  1. It appears that Pieper Arms Company was a gun maker in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I found this with a quick google search: Pieper Arms Company - Pieper Established as Henri Pieper in Herstal, Belgium in 1884, became Nicolas Pieper in 1898, and in 1905 became Anciens Etablissments Pieper. As to the value or any other info, I have no idea.
  2. I seriously doubt that they are limited to just i-pods. As the report states: "...none of the symptoms are life-threatening, and the pacemakers returned to normal when the iPods were shut off." Most of the occurrances had to be within 2" of the chest. Dollars to donuts if they expanded the search to include other electronic devices, the list would grow to more than i-pods.
  3. How about the classic CZ75 line of semi auto handguns? Another classic semi auto is the Browning Hi-Power.
  4. If you are serious about competition skeet, I would not buy an auto as you will need 4 of them and Benelli does not make all gauges. Go with a decent o/u and get a tube set. Its cheaper than buying extra guns. Although you can buy a 20 ga semi and use it in the 12 and 20 ga events.

Sorry, but I have not heard.

    Roketa ATV

Thanks Bob but those are not selling points to me. I am leaning away from the Roketa now and will probably get the Yamaha Raptor 700. I don't need a 4x4, and an automatic is way too boring for the desert.
  8. I put these sights on my turkey gun. They willl allow you to sight in the pattern to be sure you are on target. With today's super tight chokes and loads, its not hard to miss a turkey's head at close range. This will allow you to make sure your aim is dead on.
  9. So Snapper, what did you get? I am in data gathering mode for my quad purchase. I have it down to a big bore sport (Yamaha 700 Raptor) or a Brute Force 650i/750i. I may wait till summer to see if Kawi is going to release a FI version as I don't want a carb. My riding will entail a lot of elevation changes (4000 - 12,000) so FI is definately a plus.
  10. First off, are you looking for a dual sight system for turkey or deer hunting or are you looking for something for wingshooting? Does it have a vent rib? Do you have a mid bead? Where does the gun shoot? Do you have any cross-dominance problems?
  11. The best loads are the ones that are matched to what you are hunting/shooting and shoot the best. In my 30-06 guns, no two shoot the same loads the best. They each have their own favorites. Buy a box of each and see what your gun likes.
  12. The AR15 design is capable of some very fine accuracy. Who makes the best is a hard call. It all depends on what you want to pay. If accuracy is you top priority, you can get Les Baer rifles that have guarantees to shoot 1/2" groups at 100 yards. That will put most bolt guns to shame. You may get a gun that shoots as well from another maker but its not guaranteed to shoot that tight. Most gun makers can make guns that shoot 1" groups with a shooter that is capable of doing so. I have a JP Enterprise flat top upper that is the second most accurate gun I own. Its only bested by my 6 PPC benchrest gun. If you want a gun capable of shooting National Match Service Rifle competition, there are many builders that offer one that will shoot much better than the majority of shooters using them. Rock River, like William mentioned makes a great gun and offers them at a decent price. I just bought a M4 style gun by them. It has a 16" barrel, collapsable stock, etc. The fit and quality is top notch. You can also get the big name mass produced guns like Bushmaster, Olympic Arms, DPMS, and Armalite. They are decent quality guns. You can still get Colt guns but they have a higher price tag and are not necessarily any better quality. Personally, I would not buy an Olympic Arms and I would probably stay away from Bushmaster. Armalite, and DPMS make decent quality guns. If I could get it quickly, Rock River would be my first choice for a factory gun.
  13. Congrats on teh the Bob! The hunting gods have smiled on you again.
  14. Since you have a 7mm Mag, the performance difference is really not that much different to a .30 caliber mag. I would definately recommend the bigger .338 Win mag for the bigger stuff. I have shot a handfull of whitetails with my .338 Win Mag and it worked well on them. Granted they were no deader than the deer I shot with my .243 Win but I was just warning up for an elk hunt the next month.
  15. Look at this schematic you should be able to figure out what you need to do and where you can get the part. If not, take it to a professional.
  16. I dunno, I really can't see the use of them. For the price of them, I would rather get a used CJ5 Jeep and add a few toys to it and it will go anywhere the RZR will and I can drive it home from the woods. The last place I hunted in VA, we had a Geo Tracker that someone rolled. The roof was crushed in so we took a sawzall to the roof and made it a full convertable. We removed the doors and just beat the snot out of that thing in the woods. Not bad for $100. It had 4wd and was extremely nimble in the woods.
  17. Yep, I am round. Anyhoo, I have a WEaver base on my 835. How about this one?
  18. Very nice! The cartridge is a good choice. Why not just go with a 6 PPC? I don't know if you would see a difference in accuracy in a Mauser action. Lets see some of the bughole groups when the wind dies.

Yeah yeah yeah, lets move on guys. I answered his question to this question.
  20. Congrats on the nice buck Leo! Way to go.
  21. While I have had many of them, I usually get the Tombstone 4-meat. They are hard to beat at WallyWorld for $3. I add more cheese and some more pepperoni. I got one of the Presto Pizzazz Pizza Cookers and it makes outstanding pizza. Even the frozen stuff actually tastes pretty good.
  22. I only use them dry. I use my cleaning rods and guides for the heavy work and the bore snakes for in between just before I start shooting. I have tried to apply some sort of solvent but the tightness of the snake makes a mess when I use it. If you use the copper solvents with them it will eat the bristles on the brush. It would be nive if you could have solvent of some sort in the front followed by a brush, followed by solvent again then dry patch and then just oil. Like most of the combination things, they will do each thing ok. Not great but just ok.

  25. It's just an updated Model 710. Hopefully they have re-engineered the magazine catch as that made the gun a single shot when the plastic piece broke. Notice I said "when" it breaks, not "if" it breaks. Personally, I can think if better ways to spend $400.
