Re: Racial slurrs I haven't been paying too terribly much attention to this story, but I have paid a little. If he was told to leave, thats understandable. If he was threatened, shot at, whatever, I call it self defense. Reason being, 1. Its six against one. 2. At least one of the six had a gun. Perhaps he didn't realize he had gone off his hunting land. It happens quite frequently around here, two neighboring hunting clubs, and someone wants to get away from everyone else, but they overstep the property line. I don't know what happened there, the only person that does is Vang.

Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings [ QUOTE ] Do you get the feeling that NASCAR is going a little too Hollywood, like other sports? I sure hope not. It's a great thing, just for us rednecks! [/ QUOTE ] It violated its core fan base. I quit watching, and I read earlier this season that ratings were down something like 13%. It won't be long before NASCAR falls, and falls hard, you can put money on that.

Re: NASCAR and the Language \"barrier\" I agree, and this is why I watched all of 0 races this year. NASCAR has really ticked me off with how it does things nowadays. Thats why I stick to F1 and WRC. Better racing, and they don't try to hold the teams back for the sake of "money saving" like NASCAR does. Racing is an expensive game that doesn't turn a profit, and quite honestly, if you can't afford to play, you shouldn't be trying to make the team.

Re: Ever witnessed anything like this? [ QUOTE ] Never seen anything like that before. Two years ago after a bad storm with about 70 mph straight line winds blew a tree over on our place that fell on a doe and killed her. [/ QUOTE ] Wow, you must have some fat deer there. Here, they jump out of the way of arrows from time to time. I'll be over there with a trailer to pick up some of your fat lazy deer to bring here.

Re: RT Forum Members Violating Hunting Regulations I'll be the second to confess. One night, while driving home, a monster, and I mean monster buck crossed in front of my car (I said car not truck). I very seriously considered taking off behind him and trying to run him down.

Re: Clinton Library Donations I believe the Saudi's donate lots of money to many American politicians, regardless of party, just becuase they have it and we are their friends or w/e.

Re: Let\'s all join PETA and Green peace I stand corrected. I always assumed they got it mailed free since the stamp says "prepaid", but I guess that just means they pay one fee a month to mail anything they want.
-
Re: Let\'s all join PETA and Green peace [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I often wondered if you couldn't sabotage their efforts by requesting info or doing something on a mass basis that depleted them financially. [/ QUOTE ] That could actually be a viable idea. [/ QUOTE ]Not really, since they are "Non Profit" organizations, they get to mail whatever they want for free.

Re: Homosexual marriage forward: Quite funny, and quite true. Regardless, the debate over homosexual marriage is a legal one, and thusly, religion cannot come into play according to our constitution.

Re: Whats so wrong about stem cell research ? [ QUOTE ] But maybe one of those fertilized eggs would have grown to be a scientist who finds another way to cure the same diseases without having to kill fertilized human embyo's? [/ QUOTE ] Very bad logic there. By the same token, it could grow up to be a mass murderer, so lets get rid of it before that happens. I don't have a problem with stem cell research, and think anything that can be used to help human life should be done.

Re: Buckshot question I use buckshot in very heavy cover, where shots are limited to about 30 yds. Anything beyond that is too far imo. Buckshot can and will work for killing deer, you just have to know its limitations, and be able to pass a shot up easily.

Re: To Outlaw a religion? Congratulations, you missed my point completely. What I was getting at was that you can't ban a religion based on the act of a few bad eggs, so to speak. The ku klux klan considers themselves a christian denomination. The Islamic religion is not a religion of hatred as you would so like to believe. Certain factions of it are, such as the Shiites. You cannot lump all muslims in with the extremists as they are not all the same.

Re: This is well, different. [ QUOTE ] geez what's next a thermonucleur device. [/ QUOTE ] "Up next on Realtree Outdoors, Michael Waddell takes a nice buck in Montana while sitting in a submarine in the North Atlantic using a Trident Missle."

Re: To Outlaw a religion? Bad idea. By doing this you only give them further reason to hate the United States. Also, you have to remember that the vast majority of Muslims do not feel the same way about America as the extremists. IMO it would be akin to banning christianity because the ku klux klan burns crosses in people's yards.

Re: Nascar Diecast. [ QUOTE ] I have 3 #20 cars (including the Winston Victory car), a #1 Pennzoil car and 4 #8 cars. I'd like to get an actual tire, but the wife just gives me that look when I mention it. [/ QUOTE ] I got one a few years ago at the Richard Petty museum. Had his autograph and everything. I ended up selling it on ebay for a heft profit lol tycoon. They really are impractical, I mean, you can't do anything with them, although if you got 2, it could make a neat end table, or if you got 4, you could put a piece of glass on them and have a cool coffee table.

Re: Question about the draft??? So true carbonhunter. Pretty much all Congressman work 5% of the time and the other 95% they are politicking.

Re: Gay marriage... The point is, its an act between two consenting adults, not between an adult and a minor who has no legal right to consent to a sex act.
-
Re: Gay marriage... [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] we are talking about two consenting adults, not an adult having sex with a dead person. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, your sick for even posting that [/ QUOTE ] I didn't even bring up necrophelia, Johnf did.
-
Re: Gay marriage... [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] On another note, all effots to outlaw ban gay marriages stem from religion. Making a law based on religious beliefs is unconstitutional, plain and simple. That's why we have a seperation of church and state. [/ QUOTE ] Thou shalt not kill - unconstitutional - lets go out an run-amuck killing everyone in sight Thou shalt not steal - unconstitutional - quick everyone to Wal*Mart. Thou shalt not bear false witness - unconstitutional - So that's why they don't think Clinton did anything wrong. Thou shalt not lie down with the beast of the field as with woman kind. Not gonna touch that one [/ QUOTE ] Those laws don't have to be based on religion. Killing someone is obviously wrong, you are taking their life, something you have no right to do. Stealing is wrong, you are taking something from someone. Lying under oath, you are helping a (possibly) guilty man be acquitted, or a (possibly) innocent man be convicted. This is obviously wrong. How do homosexual couples getting married hurt anyone? And lets not even start with it sets a bad example, as by not accepting people you are setting a bad example for children.
-
Re: Gay marriage... Here is the difference though, we are talking about two consenting adults, not an adult having sex with a child, not an adult having sex with an animal, not an adult having sex with a dead person. None of these things have any legal ability to say yes or no. Another adult does however. That is where you draw the line.

Re: Gay marriage... I do not believe whether one is gay is a choice. I base this on a couple of reasons. I have friends who are gay, and every one of them has told me they didn't choose to be the way they are, they just realized at some point, thats the way it is. Also, I didn't choose to be attracted to the opposite sex, I just am. How can I say that homosexuals aren't just that way. On another note, all effots to outlaw ban gay marriages stem from religion. Making a law based on religious beliefs is unconstitutional, plain and simple. That's why we have a seperation of church and state. Why shouldn't homosexual couples be afforded the same legal rights and protections as their straight counterparts? If two people love each other, regardless of their sex and want to make that commitment a legal one, why shouldn't they be allowed to?

Re: Cartridge Comparison I still like my '06. Cheap ammo, a wide bullet selection, the ability to kill every living creature in North America, and many other factors have always made it my favorite, and will make it my favorite for the rest of my life.
