Let me try to find a round baler belt this weekend. If I do ill try it first before you put out the effort. If that doesnt work or seal up ill PM you...

When it rains it pours.. You better invest in the invisible fence so it doesnt get out of the yard. Too much invested in that pooch.

new guy here, still trying to figure this place out!

Its alright... Welcome aboard. Youll figure it out before too long... -
we have a couple of round balers. Its probably been a few years since we changed belts. I'll see what we have this weekend. That may just be the ticket. They probably arent wide enough but I can hang two together...

I thought about holding them over a fire and trying to take the curve out of them... I may look for an old belt while im at the ranch this weekend hunting. Still open to ideas.

We have a dog door that leads through the wall into our laundry room so our two outside dogs (Corgi and Golden) can come in out of the weather, eat, etc. The dog door is a medium/ small. My golden can get through fine but because of her size she is pretty hard on the flaps. She runs about 60lbs so her back drags as she comes in. After a very short time the doors are gone and or breaking off. The flaps for those things run around $60 - $70. I would have to replace these a couple of times a year. I’ve been looking at heavy plastics to replace this thing cheaper and with more life but cant seep to come up with anything. I bought a heavy rubber door mat and cut the shape out. It was only $10 and I could get three out of the one mat. However, floor mats are made from recycled rubber so it lasted all of 2 months from the swinging back and forth. I need a solid piece of flexible plastic or rubber in either clear, smoke, gray, or black. It needs to be pretty tough because of my big girl. I thought about using belts from a round baler but they have a natural curve so they wouldn’t seal against the frame of the flap.. Ive looked online and found things that looked like they would work OK but they were the same stinking price as the door flaps! Any ideas? Because she is so hard on the door I hate to put yet another $60 flap in and have to replace it 3-4 months down the road...

Some added information.... Ive been reading reviews for several days. Im still open but I have to admit im not the best about cleaning my shotguns during season. That seems to make a difference on some of the Brownings and Remingtons....

Beast! Well done....

Bruit! Congratulations man...

Bruit! Wow.... congratulations..

I try not to leave them in there all the time but I do leave it in there a couple of times a year. It is probably as hard on them taking them from a hot 72 deg house to teens immediately if it is even hard on the bow at all.... I'm sure you're fine. I don’t know if I would leave it there all season but on occasion you’re gold. Sounds like Oklahoma...

Big'ole nasty rack! Congratulations... thats a beautiful buck.

That is a great buck! Congratulations from a fellow Okie... I havent had a great bow season. Then again I havent been out as much as I would like. Hopefully its full swing by this weekend's rifle season.

I wanted to chase deer yesterday but WAY too windy. We had gust pushing 50 MPH. So I went and sat on a pond. I saw around 50 - 60 ducks from daylight to 7:30. I only had a shot on 3 (two different groups). Missed the first single all together and then my gun jammed on the second too. I was amazed the birds were out but they were there.... The one I missed may have been a pintail. It came through like a dart, cupped, and was gone in seconds after the shot. It did fly directly overhead and from the profile im guessing it was a pintail. It would be odd however as it would be the very first pintail I have ever seen on our ranch in over 30-years.

So two years ago I decided I needed a new shotgun. I shelved the pumps and bought a Charles Daly 3.5" duck gun because they were closing them out. Charles Daly is out of business so I bought the shotgun new for $400.00. Overall the shotgun shoots really nice. Its accurate and folds up birds. My only complaint until recently is that it wouldn’t cycle 2 3/4" shells. Still, with 3.5" and even a heavy 3" it would work. I dropped it off with a gunsmith last year to see if he could do anything with the cycling. He cleaned it and took it on a few duck hunts and told me to just break it in. Jump forward to this year. I took it dove hunting and shot way too many rounds out of it for the number of doves I got. I took it on my first duck hunt of 2012 yesterday morning. Everything seemed to be fine on the first two shots (missed, bad wind). I had two more ducks come in a few minutes later so I pulled up and *click*. Shell jammed in the chamber, action locked and will not open. Ergo, its back to the gunsmith this year during duck season... AHHHHH. So the first of next year I will be in the market for a new Semi-Auto. I am going to have this one fixed and its hit the road jack. I have already told my wife to brace herself, I plan on buying a good Semi-Auto that shoots 3.5" shells and told her I would likely spend around $800+ so I wouldn’t have to buy another. We watch Duck Dynasty together (she loves the show) so she asked about Benelli. I’m not ruling it out but even a used Super Vinci will cost over $1k. Still, I would like opinions based on solid performance. I need a rock solid Semi-Auto, open to brands, but it must shoot 3.5" shells. What say ye?......

Amazing he got the chance to finish that big boy off! Congratulations to him.... great buck and great end to the story.

Rifle starts this weekend and the deer should be really heating up finally. Seeing a lot of dead deer on HWY 412 on the drive in. This cold snap should help. I was going out yesterday to test my rut theory but the wind was way, way too bad.

At least youre seeing something.. i didnnt expect anything to be in the area. Im bow hunting on Sunday before Church. Ill be checking the ponds on my way out. We have a cold front coming in on Monday. Hopefully it will truly get cold and stay that way.

Yep.. those arent the easy ones to kill... Congratulations.

That is a great buck. He wanted to make you work to get him out. Congratulations....

That literally gave me chills...

I hurt for all of us today. Hopefully we can hunker down and make it through the next 4-years of damage. Knowing that my taxes are coming up $3,500 this year doesn’t help... Knowing that my employer will likely drop all insurance for love of Obamacare isn’t comforting either... This is not a great time to be in the middle class. God help us all.

Slow in the NE. Still seeing bucks hanging together too. I have seen deer starting to move early in the mornings so at least there is that. On my way to Tulsa this morning it was 39deg and the deer were out in good numbers.... Rut should start. Its late already so it has to be coming to a head.
