I actually ditched my turkey vest altogether close to 10 years ago. I use a small-ish belt pack around my waist and if it won't fit in there, I probably don't need it. I do carry a very compact stool. It goes down over the barrel of my shouldered gun for carry. I've never missed my vest once.

Sounds like it'd be a great time !! Sadly, I'm not sure how many of "the old gang" are even on here anymore to see/hear of your idea. For me............ problems would arise from the distance to the lodge as well as the financial end of it. But, on paper, it's a heckuva cool idea.

I was starting to wonder.................

So......while I can can still access the forums on my phone...... I can not navigate to them from any direction, by any manner on my laptop for at least the last week. What's going on ?????

It's REALLY strange. We've had mornings as cold as 24 degrees in the last week. Couple more in the upper 20's. You'd THINK that'd crank SOMETHING up, but.............

UGH !!!!!! None of the white crap here, yet. But 28 degrees this morning. 24 degrees last Sunday morning. Weatherman is saying the white crap is coming this Tuesday and Wednesday. Here we friggin' go again.................... 🤬

I have yet to see a single scrape. Usually they are hitting them HARD here around the 20th - 25th of this month. But, as yet............. ZILCH.

Nope. Not a typo. With Maine Hntr's great pics, and Rhino's much awaited post................ AND me FINALLY figuring out how to post a pic here, again........... In 2012 I arrowed one of my better bucks. No monster. But of pretty rare quality for around these parts. The problem was........he had gotten into a fight and took a tine right between his chin and throat patch, leaving an abscess that made him look like a pelican. The abscess rendered his cape unfit for a mount. Fast forward to last season, and a buck I shot that I normally would not have (it happens). The silver lining to THAT was his cape was beautiful. Sooooo.............. 2012 antlers and 2021 cape go to the taxidermist, and............ 10 years later, the buck is finally where he should be.
