    Bear mounts

Re: More Bear Mount Pictures [ QUOTE ] This Polar Bear was on Display at the Manitoba Big Game Trophy Association Awards Bauquet In April. A Taxidermy Shop from Winnipeg had it on Display. My Son is 6' 4" [/ QUOTE ] So given the diference in height of the bear on the platform, that's about a 7'6" polar?

  3. Re: my b-day present Don't take it for granted. There's no way on "God's green earth" that my parents would have ever bought me my own vehicle. That's not to say that there wasn't something for me to drive, but if I wanted my own car I had to buy it myself.
  4. Re: what to do with old shells? Are they still in the original boxes? The boxes may have some collectible value. Your local law enforcement agency may have an outlet, or advice, for disposal of any ammo you wish to discard
  5. Re: Anybody ever use this? Haven't used them myself. Know the laws in your area, some places consider that baiting. A few years ago Pennsylvania made it a point to specifically ban astroturf or other green indoor/outdoor carpet for goose hunting. The birds see the green "grass" and think "dinner". I asked about that tactic in areas where I hunt and the response was - "if it's intended to entice game by making them believe that it's a food source, then it's baiting and is illegal." Do exercise caution.
  6. Re: This is what Goose Hunting is all about Way to go! The early season is a great time to introduce kids to it. The weather is comfortable and its easier to make the outings short enough to keep their enthusiasm for it.
  7. Re: Getting rust off of shotgun shells Use them for target practice. It's frustrating to have a jam or other failure when your hunting, but not so much so when your just out burning a few rounds at the range.
  8. Re: Happiness is...... [ QUOTE ] Cabela's catalog is a grown-ups "wish book" I can look at it for hours!! [/ QUOTE ] The wife always kids me that I got some more "hunter's porn" in the mail.
  9. Re: is anybody having dreams yet ? Haven't had a hunting dream in a while. I did find myself last night dreaming about leading my son's cub scout den. Another dad and I are co-leading a den this year and getting things started has been an active topic for me this week.

    wife had a scare

Re: wife had a scare I know how that feels. You never know what they're going to get themselves into. One time I discovered my son, about 2 1/2 at the time, asleep in his bed with a bunch of pocket knives (about six or seven) OPENED that he had taken off of my dresser. He was completely unscathed, but boy did that shake me up.
  11. Re: Another Hero(?) Shamed?: [ QUOTE ] Kind of ironic that he killed a fellow motorcycle rider, huh? What a shame. [/ QUOTE ] You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. It's hard to escape the sad irony of the situation.
  12. Re: Best Tatoo Ever !!! [ QUOTE ] i know a women who has a tatoo like that but cant release where [/ QUOTE ] I'll bet your referring to a certain photo that's been around on the internet for several years, but is in no way appropriate for this forum.
  13. Re: My wife took a new Job. [ QUOTE ] . A friend of hers is a post master and when she finishes her 20-years (for retirement) she will have over 1-million in the bank because she used the retirement and such to the maximum degree. [/ QUOTE ] And they're already proposing another postage rate increase.

    WHAT A NIGHT!

Re: WHAT A NIGHT! I was party to a practical joke on Clint Black once. He was doing a charity fundraiser for Children's Cancer Research and I was supervising the private security detail that was hired for the show. The prank involved his pilot getting handcuffed and dragged away as Clint came around a corner. It went over great, and Clint took it all in stride, but for a while he did think he was going to be stranded in Minneapolis that night.

    Let's get a RT Band!

    Friday Trivia

Re: Friday Trivia [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] How is that trivia? You gave us the answer before a question. [/ QUOTE ] LOL. Got me wondering the same thing here . [/ QUOTE ] Trivia, by definition, is not a question. It is "insignificant or inessential matters" If something is "Trivial" it's "of little significance or value" - - much like this entire thread.

Donald Duck's middle name is Fauntleroy.
  23. Re: Anyone cook with a wood stove? We've got one at our duck camp, but no special recipes. Typically we just use it for heating water and sometimes for heating up a premade dish that someone brought. We have used the oven to slow roast a ham. It's also our bread toaster. We take one of the plates off the top of the fire box and put a light wire grate over it and then slap a piece of bread on it to make toast. Otherwise we've got a propane stove for all of our cooking. You really have to pay attention to it so that you maintain even cooking temperatures.

    Fear!

Re: Fear! Fear Most: anything happening to my wife or sons, or me dieing while my kids are still young and leaving them to grow up without me. (my death in itself does not scare me, it just the impact it would have on my young family.) Fear the least: bunnies
