1. Got the answer from Remingtons site:
2. I have read many times about dryfiring a big game rifle for practice before the season. Jack Oconnor wrote about doing this in his home office on a regular basis. I know it is alright to dry fire center fire bolt action rifles. Can I also do this with a Remington 7600 slide action? Or would it cause a problem?
3. Took A nice doe yesterday during our fall ML season. I was able to use my knight wolverine inline with a peep sight. Posted picture with my submission. Still have not sen a nice enough legal buck to shoot during archery. All kinds of young 8 points.....nothing mature yet. Best part of the season is coming..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/IronBuck/ContestPhotoBillDoe2012.jpg
4. Iron Buck: PA Doe. Early ML Season. Taken With a knight Inline 10-20-12. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/IronBuck/ContestPhotoBillDoe2012.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/IronBuck/Harvestreport1a.jpg
5. Congrats on a nice bull
6. Nice elk:clap: I am here.....forgot I signed up. Our season starts statewide the end of this month. I will be sure to check in.
7. Lots of good input. Thanks! I am not looking for a concealed carry gun at this time. Maybe in the future. Without a big frame of reference I had a full sized high capacity gun in mind. Something to have at home & take to the range for some target practice. Have been used to an exposed hammer.....never shot a glock type gun. Maybe I will have to take a trip to see strut & do some shooting.
8. tried to post the target picture......just comes up small...hard to see. Strut, maybe some time this fall?
9. NIce collection Strut .......I may need to come up and shoot. I need some long range time
10. I do like it, but I have yet to use this one for big game. Bought it new back in the early 90's. I think I may use it during our PA deer season this year. I know it is overkill....but it is a shame to let this one sit:cool:
11. Just broke out my Ruger M77 Mark II in 300 Win mag. It is the only big game rifle I own which I have not actually used on big game. I picked up some Remington 180 core lokts to use to check my scope and sight in. My plan was to use them for practice and then handload my own rounds. Problem is......my rifle LOVED them. It is grouping at just over 1/2" with three shots at 100 yards. Looks like I will go with "plan B"......just use the factory stuff . Now if I can just draw that elusive Pennsylvania elk tag! 12. Can some one tell me what the different glock numbers are? I am looking for a full size 40 cal. Which glock do I want to look at? How many rounds do they hold?
13. I have not had a pistol since I sold my Beretta 9mm a few years back. Looking to get a new one. I have looked at the Ruger SRC40 and it seems like a nice gun. Especially for the price. AND...made in AMERICA Anyone have one who can comment on it? Pros? Cons?. Any other recommendations?
14. When you have to many toys you can't play with them all
15. Lots of change in life the last several years......will catch up with PM. With respect to the 06.....Why does that not surprise me
16. I handload but my 30-06 LOVEs Remington Corlokt 165's. It shoots just over 1/2" at 100 and holds well to 300 yards shooting right around 2".......I can't do better than that and the factory rounds are cheap
17. When you guys pick a date.....e-mail me. I'd like to make this one!
18. I am not sure of the exact prices....but I read that they START at $200,000.00 ....and head north from there! Some costing 1.8 million. Wonder if any of them evet see the great outdoors and get used.
19. I have never even looked through a vortex so I have no opinion on them. But I own many Leupolds & several Nikons. I will take the Leupold VX-II or Vari-x & VX-IIIs (3-9's, 4-12s, 1.5-5s, 2,5-8s)over my nikon Monarchs(2-7s, 3-9s). But I like the Monarch better than the cheaper Leupolds. The biggest thing I disslike about Nikons is that the "sweet spot" to see through the scope is very small. If you are not right on then it is like looking through a stovepipe. Leupolds are much more forgiving in this respect. IMHO Leupolds are just plain better hunting scopes.
20. I say the best rifle values are from this guy: http://www.hoferwaffen.com/hofer_5.php?lang=en A bargain at TWICE the price BTW.....check out the "readily available" link.
21. It will be good to see you guys again. I will bring my 375HH. Not sure how it will fair at 600 yards though:D But it seems appropriate for the OTPG:) If I have time to do some reloads I'll bring a 7mag as well. Or maybe my 300.....oh the choices !!
