Re: Bowtech Guardian Went to the bowshop last night and this is what I shot..... I shot ...... Mathews Drenalin Hoyt Vectrix Bowtech Allegiance I really like the drenalin. Felt great and was very smooth. I didn't notice any noise at all. It is a little weird looking but I like weird. The Hoyt, well lets say I just didn't like the feel at all. It was an XL but didn't care for the grip and just didn't feel good to me. The bowtech again got me thinking. It was super smooth and very quick. It had a crappy rest but I didn't base anything on that. He didn't have the new one ( the guardian) in yet but said he should in a week. I will wait and see what its got. I also am going to shoot the XT again and most likely will have a new bow in the next month or so. Right now I am leaning toward the drenalin but haven't ruled out going to the Bowtech, we will see.

Re: college is so frustrating [ QUOTE ] You're not even in college yet, and you're complaining about it already? j/k Hmmmmm, tough one. I'd be inclined to take the full ride with a degree in something like biology. There are many degrees that might not be in the exact field you want, but you can get close. College is expensive, take the money. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with Chris here. Major in Bio or something similar that you can transfer most of your credits and get the degree you want after you get your BA. A full ride or even partial is very nice. Plus playing college ball is something you will never forget. I know, I did it and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Re: Cop paralyzed by young punk Let it go guys, obviously bghunter777 has been in trouble with the law and is bitter. Don't turn this thread around like he wants. I have 2 cousins that are State Troopers, many friends either troopers, sherriffs or local police and my daughters boyfriend just got into the Rochester PD academy ( I cringe when I think of Rochester). Everytime simething like this happens my heart goes in my throat. All because our society and judicial system protects the freakin criminals more than the authorities. Sorry for the rant. My prayers go out for the officers and the families involved and I hope somehow everything turns out ok.

Re: cleaning and hanging deer [ QUOTE ] I guess I'm the odd ball here, because I always hose my deer off. But we do have running water at deer camp, so that may be the difference maker. [/ QUOTE ] Me too, rinse mine out real good.

Re: deer processing Check this out .... It is a pretty good site to estimate meat http://home.hot.rr.com/deerguides/html/estimating_a_deer_weight.html

Re: Team 8 Wow I see that the scores have been updated and we have a very slim lead. Wish I could upgrade but don't see it happening this year.

Re: More NY poachers get caught My wife just told me about this. Those morons live about 15 minutes from me. I don't know them. You guys are right, we need stiffer penalties.
-
Re: Local poachers caught That is good. I wish they would nail some of the scumbags in our area.

Re: Ok, I did it!! Blaze orange..the controversy. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I actually didn't read all the reply's... My opinion is...it should be a personal choice on private land. State land...well its owned by the state and they can mandate any law they choose. I also feel that anyone that shoots someone else because they thought it was game?????? I don't care what your wearing...if you can't tell the difference between a human and a deer before you pull the trigger...you shouldn't be out there. And with these morons, it don't matter what your wearing! [/ QUOTE ] Snap what about this example....... there is a guy hunting across a ridge from you during rifle season. Say 200-300 yards. In camo, you'd have no clue he was even there. You see a deer somewhere in between the two of you, pull the trigger, and you hit the guy. Now, maybe if that guy was wearing orange you would of at least caught a glimpse of him. You see what I am saying? It's not just about telling the difference between a deer and a human, it's being able to see people behind your range of fire, and all around you for that matter, that you would not normally see if they were wearing camo. [/ QUOTE ] Ok so how about this .... Your a couple hundred yards away in full camo and the "other" guy never sees you. NOW Same senario .... Your wearing blaze orange and because of that, the "other" guy picks up movement and shoots. I know extreme and crazy but you always hear about people or I should say Morons shooting when they see something move. They would have never seen the guy if he didnt have orange on. Now I do wear an orange hat during our gun seasons just because of the morons that hunt in our area. But I just have a problem with someone telling me I have too espicially when it comes to hunting.

Re: Congrats to another new mod!! Geez first Hillary, now Ruth and Andrea. What is this world coming to ???? Just kidding gals..... congratulations. You two will do a great job.

Re: NY Hunters, If You had A chance Well lets see .... 1. Definately QDM (We need a healthier herd). 2. Shorten the gun seasons and get gun season out of the rut times 3. Make the state's seasons the same across the board and get rid of the North / South deal. 4. Implement tougher laws on poaching and violaters. 5. Coyote hunting year round. 6. Benefits for landowners that allow hunting on their property, via tax brake or something. Too much un-assesible land these days.
