I haven't seen one in ages. The fire ants, coyotes, skunks, coons and especially feral cats have taken a huge toll on them.

I want to take out those nanny does as soon as possible in bow season. Nothing worse than sitting on a stand and getting busted by a smart old nanny that has you pegged. Does a legal anytime in bow season, only a week here in rifle season and I'm in the anytime group there. In La. I'll fill those tags quick too

This is all that's been on the news here in Central Fl. for months.. I said early on, unless she confessed they wouldn't be able to convict her. The sheriff's office really messed up the investigation by not diligently following up on the report by the meter reader back in August. I have no doubt that Caylee died at the hands of Casey A. whether intentional or by accident we won't know. She was elated to have her gone though and in the end, she will be Judged....

I also like the broadcast feeders. On time feeders are very reliable. I've used feeders for many years, and in my opinion, stay away from the daylight and dusk feeders. It's better to have a programmable feeder either by pins or digital so you can control the time of day and length of duration. I set mine to throw once daily in the mornings. I don't use additives in my feed, but all I throw is soybean now because of the bears.

I'm anywhere from 3 - 5 ft depending on the location. hanging higher and angling down sometimes helps get better pics of the racks and full body

I know this comes up every year, and it's that time of year again when clubs start paying up for the land leased from the timber companies. So, what are you payin in your area if you have to lease? The timber companies here have us starting at $15 an acre.. I just checked some of their tracts up for lease in other areas of the state and some go up to $30 an acre... the majority averages $15 -$18 an acre Our club, like many others, is struggling to get enough members to cover the lease and keep the price affordable with the economy in the state it's in. So, what does lease land go for in your area?

congratulations on the new rifle! You can't beat the '06. Now you just have to find out what ammo and grain it likes best.. it's fun but sure gets expensive now.

I've hunted and used everything on deer from a .223 to a .300 win mag and they have all done the job. I was thinking earlier this year about the same thing, if I had to just settle with one rifle to hunt with, what would it be. I dusted off the Ol Reliable 30'06. You can get bullets for it anywhere and for any game you want and if you handload, well the options there are unbeatable. Bullet weights from 110 to 220 grains that you can take anything from Varmits to Bear or Moose and still have enough power to get the job done. It will shoot reliably out to as far as you want if scoped correctly. I love my .280, .270, .308, 7 mag and 300 mag, but if I could only keep one out of all, it would be my Remington 30'06. It just has that perfect match of power and accuracy.

There are a few options here, it just depends on how you are going to cook them. If just grilling, season with tony chachere's, wrap in bacon and grill. If you can cook them inside, my favorite way is smothered quail. I don't know anyone, myself included, from La. that doesn't like smothered quail. Here's a recipe from NOLA Picayune. I use more green onions, omit the nutmeg, and add more wine. Serve it over a bed of rice or some dirty rice and you're in Heaven. In the newscast on this, not only will more Walmart stores carry firearms, they now will be bringing back Handguns into most of the stores that sell guns. I think that's a good move for walmart. For those that have walmart's currently selling firearms. You can ask for their catalog under the counter and order many more additional guns than what they have on the shelves.

It would be good if you could find the contract . My understanding also on these matters is that they are paid in full now and there are no fees later. Funeral homes are heavily regulated by state regulations in most places so an inquiry there would not hurt either. If the receipt is stating it's paid in full, then it should be paid in full. Unless there is s stipulation in the fine print of the contract I would push back very hard on that funeral home. Also check the BBB on that particular home.

It seems too early to be getting ready for next season but I've already got the fever this year. Looking at places to clear out for food plots, putting out mineral licks, hanging some stands already, doing touch ups on equipment, and getting the archery gear out to start shooting. I need to refletch some arrows and might start looking into a new bow. I think I'll get the cameras back out this weekend too.

Hey Guys, Got a flyer out yesterday and went to Gander Mountain for some optics. They have the Nikon Pro Staff 3-9x40 scopes on right now with a $50 mail in rebate which makes the price $99... That's a hard price to beat for a decent scope. I know it's Nikon's low end models, but for a spare scope the price is right... Just passing along some info
