I shot this buck at 7:20 this morning.Not a big buck but he does have a unique set of horns.I saw him back in Sept and even got a picture of him on my trail cam.I always thought it would be neat to get him wth the bow and this morning he made the mistake of walking under my treestand and giving me a 5 yd shot.

Thank the Lord , the rain held off long enough so I could go hunting this morning, and it paid off.This doe came walking by my stand and gave me a 15yd broadside shot.I took out both lungs and she dropped within sight, about 50yds.

I sat until 10am and no deer.I did see 9 turkeys but what a great morning to be in the woods.Plan on going out again this afternoon.

Yeah,Good luck southernzone bowhunters. The weather forecast doesn't sound like it will be a total washout,so I will be up in a tree before daylight.Just haven't decided which one yet. My wife reminded me that the freezer is empty so that means if a nice doe happens to come to close she's in trouble.(I hope,lol ) I also will be wearing my new Scent Lok coveralls in Realtree Hardwoods AP.Good luck everyone!

I'm a pretty excitable person,(just ask someone thats gone fishing with me.lol) So I understand the emotion some hunters express after taking a deer.The first thing I do after I know I made a good hit is look up and say Thank You Lord!, then I usually have to sit down because I'm shaking so bad.

My 1st deer with a bow was a 8pt.Just got lucky,I would have taken anything that offered a shot.
