  1. My last pin is sighted in at 40 yards. That pin is used only for practice. The last pin used for hunting is sighted in at 30 yards.
  2. HRRRMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm!! HRRRMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm!!! 12 & 2 in the playoffs and now a chance to skate the Cup. I have a couple of very good friends who are Flyers fans. I believe that their telephones will ring shortly. Philly did better than expected this year. I'll give them credit. Huge improvement over last year...all without Bobby Clarke as GM. Coincidence? Let's go PENS!!!! :)

    Bow Storage

I store mine in a spare bedroom year round.
  4. A buddy of mine will soon move to CT near its shore and is interested in purchasing equipment to surfcast from a nearby beach. He is looking at a reel made by Okuma and asked me what I know about that company. Since I don't know anything about the company or its equipment, I would like to ask those of you who have experience with their reels to provide feedback. I appreciate the help.
  5. Re: Michael Irvan in Hall of fame Personally, I'm not impressed with Michael Irvin's receiving stats. He could be the poster child for offensive pass interference. He very frequently pushed off the defensive back...but, to his credit and benefit, it was rarely called.

    Got Alpacas??

Re: Got Alpacas?? My buddy's sister and brother-in-law have them at their place in NY. I don't remember how many they have or know how much they paid for them.
  8. Re: A little hockey talk I believe that the best all around hockey talent comes from Canada. Although a number of Russian forwards are great on offense, many of them are liabilities in their own zone. Case in point...the defensive zone in Atlanta is where Kovalchuck's teammates play while he cherry picks around the blue line. I watched him play as a rookie in the Future Stars game before the All Star game. If I remember correctly, he scored 4 goals on breakaways or 2-on-1's because he stayed in the neutral zone waiting for a breakout pass while his teammates played defense. I don't think that he went below the top of the faceoff circles in his own zone at all during that game. He hasn't changed much since then.
  9. Re: Pop Tarts???? Chocolate fudge is tough to beat.
  10. Re: Sabres ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's go PENS!!!! I hope the 'Guins do well this year, but, regardless, I hope that they stay in Pittsburgh where they belong. Besides, the Sabres and Leafs are enough for that general area. C'mon three 7's...the 'Guins need the casino license to be awarded to the IoC.
  11. Re: hunting privelages STOLEN! Legally!! Walt, Did the Game Warden give you a citation [for address issue and/or hunting over bait] or simply confiscate your license? If you were cited, you will have your day in court. Assemble all of the evidence that you can - residency information and past/current addresses, written statements from witnesses, pictures of damage, map with your location and location of any bait, etc. Unfortunately, you may lose a hunting season while the legal process progresses. If you weren't issued a citation and the Game Warden simply told you about the "issues" and took your license, I suggest that you contact the PGC in Harrisburg for assistance. Explain your story and provide them with your license number. They should be able to tell you if your license was suspended pending a hearing, or if the PGC hasn't heard anything about your encounter. Since you obviously don't have your current license, refer to your doe license or harvest card. If I remember correctly, the backtag number is printed on the bottom of one or both of them. That backtag number may be able to provide some means of identification. If the PGC in Harrisburg hasn't heard of any issue with you, contact your regional Game Commission office to inquire whether the encounter was reported there. If not known there either, I would ask that the regional office investigate and inform you of the findings. If there is no record of your license being taken, discuss with the Game Commission its status as lost and your ability to obtain a replacement. If I remember correctly, replacement licenses cost $5.00. I believe that the accusation about the incorrect address warrants questioning of the PGC. Was the address provided a valid current address or previous address or simple misprint or typing/writing error? Did you intentionally misrepresent your address to hide some previous issue? Unless something changed recently, moving from one address to another within the state didn't affect a resident license or cause it to be invalid. However, I don't know that the same consideration is given for a resident who moves out of state. Regarding the baiting, I suggest that you research that issue in the hunting regulations booklet or on the PGC website. I don't remember what PA considers as hunting over bait - minimum distance from bait, line of sight, etc. If the Game Commission has a record of its officer taking your license on your property and you have documented evidence of damage, you may have some recourse at that time. Otherwise, you may have to pursue the matter in civil/small claims court. Without proof, your claims of bribery solicitation and threats against your cabin aren't more than heresay (your word against his). I wouldn't expect him to repeat those comments. I suggest that you follow up with the PGC in Harrisburg first, and your regional office if necessary. If the PGC gives you no satisfaction, you can always consult the local television station or newspaper. I think that you would find interest in your story.
  12. Re: Rubber gloves I always wear shoulder length gloves when I field dress a deer.
  13. Re: Moose in New York I hope that the population is on the rise in NY and that they do well in the Adirondack's. I'd like to see elk in that region too.

  15. Re: 6-Pocket Pants in Advantage Camo Pattern? Thanks for the help.
  16. A little help? I'm looking for 6-pocket pants in the [old/original] Advantage camouflage pattern. I would prefer to purchase them over the internet or through a mail order vendor rather than have to travel some distance to a retail store. If any of you know where I can find them, I would appreciate a reply and the assistance. Thanks.
  17. Re: Small game arrow in your deer hunting quiver? I keep an arrow tipped with a judo point in my quiver.
  18. Re: Roethlisberger, has emergency surgery I read a news article indicating that he is out for the first two games. That's a problem.
  19. Re: My bow just blew up! Escalade Sports purchased the Fred Bear Equipment Company out of bancruptcy a few years ago. Since your bow is a 1998 model, they probably won't honor the warranty, but it can't hurt to contact the company and inquire about it. Although the bow is several years old, Escalade Sports may have acquired a spare parts inventory and be able to sell you replacement limbs. Regarding crossbows, I shot a Parker that was fairly quiet. I don't remember the exact model.
  20. Re: Harness or NO harness??? I wouldn't consider hunting from a treestand without wearing a full body harness.
  21. Re: beverage of choice?? I prefer water.
  22. Re: gloves? I use the shoulder length field dressing gloves. They almost always tear between the thumb and forefinger, but keep blood off my clothes. I bring water or wipes to clean my hands and knife. I always carry the gloves out afterward.
  23. Re: Feeders!!! Ya or Nah!! If it's legal, I have no objection.
