Re: Super walmart is coming to my town. I hope for the best for your community, but am certainly no fan of Wal-Mart. I hope that local stores will be able to survive. On another subject, I thought that the 'Burg cornered the local market on prisons.

Re: Gobbler Gillotine, how does it fly???? I saw someone shoot one several times last year. It flew very well off his bow. His broadhead came with the arrow as a single unit of one arrow length for use with all bows and draw lengths. At that time, it was the only option available from the manufacturer.

Re: El Gato Grande Retires I caught a foul ball that he hit in Montreal's Olympic Stadium several years ago. I wonder if it will now increase in value. Maybe I should put it up on E-Bay. I'm sure that someone would be foolish enough to buy it.

I have a friend who is interested in the Mossberg Model 500 Turkey (camo) shotgun in 12 gauge. He told me that it comes with fiber optic sights and an extended choke tube. He doesn't know the choke constriction. Since I am not familiar with this particular gun, I am asking for comments from forum members who have knowledge of this shotgun. He is not interested in the Model 835 or gun by any other manufacturer. So, please limit comments to the Model 500 Turkey. Thanks.

Re: If you could hunt with a pro? If I could choose just one, I would pick Michael Waddell and let him pick the spot and game animal.

US Outfitters- their lawsuit vs states rights

Re: US Outfitters- their lawsuit vs states rights I don't know much about the lawsuit, but would prefer that each state have the ability to manage its resources. -
Re: Favorite Decoys and Set-up I have Carry-Lite decoys and like them very much. I typically use a hen or two and occasionally add a jake.

Re: Gary Bettman !!! I would rather listen to Gary Bettman than that union blowhard. By failing to negotiate, the union management has cost [many of] its members. Few will make enough in the future to offset what was lost this year. If union management is as sure of its position and unity as stated, why not permit the general population to vote on contract proposals? I'd guess that they are afraid of the results. The NHL owners have a right to run their businesses as they see fit. No player is entitled to a multimillion dollar contract. Any player who doesn't like a salary cap is free to shop his services to any team in any league that will sign him to a contract.

Re: Gordon daytona 500 winner "He doesnt have the skills he was just lucky once thats all" He had the skill to win the race. Just lucky once? If so, he has been "lucky once" enough times to win several races and multiple championships.

Re: Randy Moss a Raider.... If that happens, I'll guess that Plaxico Burress will join the Vikings via free agency.

Re: THe NHL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The NHL season is on the verge of cancellation due to a lockout imposed by the owners, not a strike. As far as I'm concerned, the owners should do whatever it takes to fix the problem. I believe that the players are largely at fault for the length of the work stoppage. The owners should have the right to manage their businesses as they see fit. If that includes a salary cap, so be it. No one can force a player to play under a cap. If he doesn't want to play under such a system, he is free to shop his services to any other league that will have him. Of course, he would not likely play for millions of dollars a year, live in North America as a multimillionaire, or skate for the Stanley Cup. But, no hockey player is entitled to such rewards. An NHL career and salary is certainly not an entitlement, no matter the level of talent possessed by a player. Implementation of a salary cap would be good for the league and greatly increase the value of each franchise. Cost certainty is the major issue, but not the only problem. Currently, many more roster spots exist than NHL-caliber players to fill them. The league would be much more competitive if 4-6 teams were contracted. However, that would hurt the league (owner revenue) and the players (fewer union members). I believe the league and the on ice officials should review the rulebook. The officials, under league direction, seem to have a very poor understanding of holding, hooking, and interference. If an action is considered a penalty under the current rules, call it! Of course, eliminating interference and calling more penalties would greatly expose teams with very limited talent. I don't have the answers, but am willing to lose this season to fix the finances. Until the NHL resumes, I'll take what I can get - AHL, ECHL and any televised hockey.

Re: Golf club question Unless something has changed in recent years, you should have no problem with shortening the shaft by one inch. Shafts on custom clubs are routinely cut to length. When installing a putter grip, setting the grip's flat surface perpendicular to the club face is important to ensure proper alignment.
