Seriously, who here has never killed an animal? I'd wager we all have. Now comes the part where someone chimes in with "I hunt for food, and eat what I kill." Me too. Now the hard question. Who here, besides me, has ever killed an animal they didn't eat? I used to shoot birds with my bb gun as a child. I didn't eat them. I have killed squirrels, and rabbits, that for one reason or another didn't make it to the dinner table. I have killed cats. I have killed the occasional stray dog. Am I evil? I like dogs, don't get me wrong. I have had pets that I cared for. But for the life of me, I can't understand this system of thought that holds dogs on a higher level than the rest of the animals in this world. I think we can disapprove of this marine's actions, without submitting him to capital punishment. I'll quit posting on this topic now. My appologies, if I offended anyone. buck

Hey, don't worry about what I think. I didn't figure you meant it. The point I was trying to make is that for some reason a lot of people seem to hold the lives of dogs on a higher level than lots of other animals. Sorry if you thought I was trying to single you out.

Maybe he's trying to get court martialed...... These subjects always seem to get a reply something to the effect of doing the same thing to the guy who did "whatever" to a dog. That's where I usually lose interest. I am not saying that it was the right thing to do, BUT I know that throwing the man off of a cliff to pay him back for it is wrong. I am sure I am not get win anyone's heart with what I'm about to say. It was a DOG. Not a person. I don't understand how someone can equate the life of an animal with that of a human. I like dog's, but I'm not gonna hang someone, or sentance them to prison for killing one. Now excuse me while I go find my flame retardent clothing.
