Re: Every one is probably sick of 2 of my friends have had it and another guy in the hunting club that joins us has had it too. It causes, among other things severe swelling of the brain. That is what causes the severe head aches that go along with the nausia, etc. I'm told by a friend of mine who is a nurse (one of the guys that has had it) that if everyone that has had the symptoms had gone to a doctor, 30% of them would have been diagonosed with west nile down here. He also said that the gurus believe that once you get it you won't catch it again. I hope that's correct.

Re: How early do you clear lanes? I've been hunting the same tract of land for a long time now. For the stands I hang early, I trim lanes when I hang the stands. That allows me to get out and stay out until I'm ready to hunt them. I usually don't hang stands between Labor Day and the opening day of bow season. I adjust stands or hang other stands during the season and limit any cutting to a bare minimum after the season begins.
