  1. ARP makes a great upper at a reasonable price. I recommend them to anyone considering a 6.8. They do other calibers as well, including the 5.56. I am going to try something in the 60 to 62 grain area for my Adams Arms. The twist on that barrel is 1:7 so it might not like the 55 gainers like my 1:9 Bushmaster does.
  2. I won a free coffee on my free coffee.
  3. Even though it was raining, I went to the outdoor range anyway. I shot my Adams Arms 5.56 first but I wasn't able to get it to group well with 55 grain ammo. Things improved with 68 grain Black Hills ammo. Anyway, on to my ARP 6.8x43 upper. I loaded up some 110 grain Hornady BTHP ammo into two different mags. After dialing in the scope and burning through about 32 rounds I loaded up one last magazine of 8 and moved to a fresh target. I shot this gun better than any other AR. I attribute the flyer to the nut behind the wheel and not the gun. I can't wait to get to the range again in nicer weather.
  4. Good to hear...I just bid on some snow camo tape as well.
  5. Thanks guys...I weighed it earlier using the wife's bathroom scale. It came in at around 8.2 lbs as pictured. The magazine is not loaded.
  6. Just ordered some McNett Camo Form Tape to fix that when hunting season comes around. Digital camo was the cheapest.
  7. Received my upper today...The Spikes Tactical lower was already assembled so all I had to do was slap the upper and lower together and mount the Burris P.E.P.R. and the Bushnell 3-10x40 Elite 3200 scope. The only thing left to do now is to get to the range and shoot it. I have 200 rounds of Hornady 110 grain BTHP ammo just waiting to go.
  8. I had to watch this a few times to get the hang of it...
  9. Looks very nice...I bet it will shoot great too. Get healed up so you can show off some groups. I love my 7-08.
  10. These guys are pretty funny and relatively informative...Check out the link. There are about 10 or so Gun Gripe Episodes...Most are pretty good.
  11. How much are you looking to spend? Do you have an FFL near you that would be willing to accept a shotgun that has been shipped from an on-line dealer?
  12. I am partial to the Glock 22 Gen 4 as well as the Glock 23 Gen 4...Both are 40cal. The 22 is my duty carry and the 23 is excellent for concealed carry. It is not too small for the hands like the Glock 27 is.
  13. I've got the H&R Ultra Rifle in 7mm-08 with a 2-7x32 Mueller red dot scope. It is a sweet shooting setup without much recoil.
  14. Just waiting on my upper from www.ar15performance.com...His barrel manufacturer is holding him up therefore he is held up with the upper. I'll take it to the range when it is finished to break it in and give a report at that time.
  15. Wtnhunt, this is my second Spikes lower. They are the same as most other mil-spec lowers I am guessing. The last build I put together was a Spikes lower with a Daniel Defense LPK and an Adam's Arms 5.56 piston upper...It locks up tight like a bank vault. It is a much tighter fit than my Bushmaster rifle. Here's a pic:
  16. It's ok, I am not able to retire for another 15 years anyway...
  17. Wow...Once that guy pulled back his bow, what possessed the intruder to stick around? I guess we will never know...
  18. I am also thinking of having this gun camo dipped as well...
