1. I am buying a new 2011 F-150 and getting some custom license plates. I need some good ideas for what to get. Obviously regarding deer hunting! Give me your best!
2. It took me 23 days of hunting. The story goes, It was the Thursday before gun season here in IL and I had hunted basically everyday in November. I needed to shoot something or else I was going to go crazy. Around 7:15 AM I heard a deer running behind me, I turn and look and it was a 2.5 yr 8 pt. that ran right in front of me. 20 yds behind him was this buck, I only caught a glimpse of him before he got in front of me. When he ran past, I was at full draw and decided to pass on this buck, thinking he just wasnt what I was looking for. He got about 50 yds away and stopped, facing away. I grabbed my binoculars and realized I had made the wrong choice. The only thing I could do was grab my True-Talker and see if I could turn him around. Sure enough, I hit it a couple times and he turned right around, the only problem was that now he was downwind at 35 yds. He started to get my wind and I knew it was now or never. I had a few limbs in front of me but I thought I could thread it through, I touched it off, and I was wrong. I hit a limb, but to my surprise, he had no idea where the sound came from, and he came running right back to me. He stopped at 25 yds and I hammered him. He only ran about 70 yds and crashed. Very exciting!!
3. I recently got one of these cameras. I was told by a friend that this is a great camera. He had one of the original ScoutGuard cameras and had nothing but good things to say about it. I guess after ScoutGuard starting using horrible cameras in their new models, Bushnell got the idea to use the same good cameras that were in the original ScoutGuards. I just put the Trophy Cam out yesterday and was wondering if anyone has used these for a while and what you think of them?
4. Definitly think in the high 150's. He has got to be only 3.5 yrs old though. Real tight body, no sway in his back, no sag in the belly, small head, not a lot of mass. Another year or 2 and he will be a giant.
5. I'm saying roughly 145 and at least 4.5 yrs old.
6. i have a yellow lab that is 2 1/2 yrs old. out of the 40 sheds i have found the last 2 years, she has found 9 of them. now to me, that is fantastic for training her myself. there are plenty of training tips on the internet. it takes a lot of practice but it is really cool whenever they find their first one. goodluck.
7. i would love to start selling them. if anybody would want one, they just have to let me know what kind of design they would want and i would make it for them.
8. ya, i found that shed the year before i killed him. i found it about 150 yds from where i shot him.
9.

11. Here are my finds so far this year. I am up to 18 now, i found 3 more today. The first picture are of the 4 matched sets i have found. The 2nd picture are all of the sheds i have found so far. In both of the pics are my shed hunting dog, Koda. Out of these 18 she has found 4. She's only 2 yrs. old so she is still learning.
12. guys i guess i have had some goodluck, i have found 14 so far this year. 3 matched sets so far...ive already hit my yearly average and its only the beginning of march.
13. i would say to get a new dog
14. i would definitly say that he is in the 170's at least.
15. congrats on a great buck....sounds awesome...there is now way that buck touches 140 though...you have to remember he is just an 8 pointer....but a great deer regardless
16. Well here is my year so far. I was able to take this buck on the 4th day of the IL season. Tell me what you guys think he scored and i will let you know how close you are. I got trailcam pics of this guy all summer and when it came hunting time, he followed the script perfectly. Exactly one week later my father and I were in Colorado and i was able to take this amazing elk. It was probably the best week of my life.
17. how are you suppose to view the videos whenever they record on a SD card??
18. What do you guys know and think about the Bushnell TrailScout 119900?
19. I have kind of tried making one of these before, and i dont know how you guys do it. I am looking to buy one from someone out there who makes a very reliable camera. So if any of you want to quote me a price, go ahead send me a message and we might have to do some business.
20. Well lucky for you i live in Centralia, and i know exactly where you are hunting. There was a deer killed about 1/2 mile from that spot about 2 years ago that went in the 180's with a 12 inch drop-tine, and the funny part is, i have the shed from that deer. My buddy that lives about 1/4 mile away from this place found it in his yard and gave it to me. Great hunting in that area, lots of nice deer taken there in the last 5 yrs. Stay on the northern side of that property and you should have some luck. Let me know if you want some more info on this area.
21. Hey guys, we planted some apple trees about 3 years ago, and they were already a year or 2 old, and they still have not produced any fruit. Do you guys know how long it takes any apple tree to produce fruit?
22. We planted about 4 acres of Biologic Maximum a little over a month ago. 4 days later we got an inch of rain and everything was coming up excellent. Well, after that we did got any rain until today, over a month later. All the maximum is up about an inch or 2 tall and isnt very green. Do you guys think it will pull through it and come up ok?
23. Here in Southern Illinois it is definitly Blue Tongue. We hunt in Marion, Wayne, and Washington Counties and have found multiple dead. Right now Washington county is suppose to be the worst in the state. I know of one person who has found over 20 dead deer. My friend had found a couple and called the DNR to report them and they said that due to the drought, many deer are getting Blue Tongue. Im not sure if you know how it works but i was told that all cattle carry it, but doesnt effect them; since it is spread by a parasite: nats, flies, no see-ums, etc... and due to the drought all of the deer have to water in one spot if they can find any, well since they all have to drink there lots get bit by the parasite and get infected. My girlfriend had 8 pen raised deer and lost 4 of them due to blue tongue, and what do you know, there is a cattle farm right down the road.
