  1. Hey guys just got Adobe Premier Pro for my video editing and was wondering if anybody has used it before and what they think of it?Ive heard many good things about it and it will take me a while to learn but i think it will be worth it.
  2. I cant figure out how to post pics, so go to www.thunderproductionsonline.com to see our 2 new foodplots. The first one is Biologic Maximum after 3 weeks, and the second plot is Imperial Chicory. By the way, my little puupy's name is Koda.
  3. hey i was just wondering if any of you guys have ever planted biologic? we planted once before in the fall and it turned out great. we planted in the spring this time and i was wondering if anybody knows how the drought resistance is with maximum? any info would be highly appreciated.
  4. well what brand of camera did you buy? we use a GL2 by canon and we camoflauge it. They have camo tape you can buy and we use stuff like that to conceal it. as for the vidoeing, we almost always use the viewfinder, this way you have a little more control and know exactly what you arelooking at and have more steadiness in your hand. make sure you are always in focus. everytime we turn the camera off we make sure that it is zoomed out almost all the way. anytime you can rest on something, do it. use a tripod on the ground and a camera arm that mounts to the tree when your in the stand. other than that it is mostly just trial and error, the more you do it the more you will find out the right way to do it. go out and just start videoing everything you can in the woods, at home, anywhere. this way it will help you get use to the camera and it will get you more comfortable with it. go out and have fun, you will love it.
  5. I know there are some guys that have a business that does this but i was just wondering how interested you guys would be about a company that specialized in coming in to your guys' property and "setting" it up for you. Including, food plot placement and planting the right food plots for you. Giving you advice for stand locations, and everything of that sort. The property wold have to pay for the seed for the foodplots but everything would be planted for you. Would some of you be interested?

  8. Re: fertalizer ? we just fertelized about an acre of monster mix and used about 125 lbs. of 13-13-13. we have very goodluck with it. good luck
  9. Re: editing software i bought mine off the internet. best buy or anywhere like that should have some different types of video editing. one of the reasons why your computer cant find your camera is because of the software. you usually have to install some kind of driver that will read your plugin. The Ulead program we use can be bought on the internet. its about $100.
  10. Re: editing software we use a a program by Ulead. it is great. before that we used one by Roxio. Both of them are tremendous. not to expensive and both are easy to use.
  11. Re: Camcorder?? i have not bought anything from there but i just seen there prices and they looked pretty good. just a thought
  12. Re: Camcorder?? we use a GL2 for movie making purposes and it is fantastic. if you go to cci cameracity's website they have great prices. Dont know how much you are willing to spend but these cameras are unbelievable. You cant touch the quality of these with a mini dvd camcorder. Good luck
  13. hey guys i just wanted to see if anybody knew about the deer around franklin county. is there some nice deer down there?
  14. hey i was just wondering, with all of the talk in Illinois about the DNR letting out mounatin lions, has anyone got a ny pics of some?
  15. Re: ILLINOIS hunters..has anyone heard about the n actually no, i meant every word i said.
  16. Re: ILLINOIS SO FAR? ive got 8 so far this year. 4 are last years and the other 4 are from this year. found a set in a food plot and found the other 2 in bedding areas.went out this after noon in the snow, didnt find anything, but i did see close to 100 deer and none of them had antlers. they are definitly starting to fall down here.
  17. Re: ILLINOIS hunters..has anyone heard about the new i think this is great idea. who wouldnt? my gosh guys. who hear can say that they can take 140 inch or bigger deer every single year? i promise you it is no one.i can honestly that i see that big of deer every year, and im sure most of us do to, i mean come on, we hunt in illinois, the best place to hunt in the enitre country. we need every advanatge we can get. how many times have you seen that super nice buck out there at about 250 yards and your just sittin there with your shotgun and being like...man if i had a rifle right now that dude would be on my wall? duh. this is a gimme. also, with them putting the season that late, the bucks are already starting to group up and become lots easier to hunt. who cares if you happen to shoot one that dropped his antlers. come on, how many bucks drop their antlers that early anyways. and if you are concerned about that, then dont shoot anything unless it has horns. you guys have to think about this. in my opinon this is the greatest thing the state can do, along with starting the archery season earlier.
  18. After about 100 yds of stalking through a CRP field, i got an arrow in this dude at 35 yds. He scored about 140, but regardless of the score, he is a very unusual trophy. If you wanna see some more pics visit www.thunderproductionsonline.com on the home page http://www.realtree.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/19404/cat/500/ppuser/5090
  19. Re: 5 1/2 year old nocturnal buck..Do I dare enter his Well, the only problem i see with A. Is that duing the rut mature bucks will leave their "home" and venture out to other territories. Be aggressive, get in on him, but make sure the wind is right and be careful. If you never take a chance, than you probably wont ever get a chance. If you know the ground real well like you do, then take every advantage you can to sneak in and put a stand up. Just wait until the conditions are right and get in there. Goodluck
  20. Ok, i need some help transferring my videos from my GL2 to my computer, i have the software and all of the wires i think. Please, if you guys could help me through this it would be awesome, i just got my camera and im lost.
  21. I was out scouting last night and had 2 big bucks out in a bean field. I had the camera running when all of a sudden they both started to posture and square off. Of course, they didnt lock up, but they sure acted like it. The bigger if the 2, i guess you could say, took a jab step at the other one making him retreat. After about 15 minutes they were eating right next to each other like they were best friends. Have any of you ever seen anything like this this time of year?
  22. Re: Sunflowers We plant sunflowers every year for dove shoots. We plant them the same time u would plant any seed such as corn or soybeans, usually in mid may. There isnt much maintenence for sunflowers, i dont think they make seed that is round-up ready. In Illinois dove season starts September 1st, we will usually mow the fields about 2-3 weeks before the season, u have to wait until the seeds harden before you mow them. If we plant 6 acres of sunflowers we will probably mow down about half of them and leave strips all throught. Goodluck
  23. Re: Locked Bucks Video wow that is amazing, i was wonderin what happened to the other buck, but i guess they both ended up ok
  24. Im looking for a new digital camcorder, we edit and produce hunting movies and am looking for something like a GL2 or Xl2 anything in that nature. If anyone has one for sale or knows where i could maybe get one for cheap i would really appreciate it.
  25. What are your guys' thoughts on salt licks and how much they help the deer nutrition. Last year we had 3 salt licks on our 240 acres and we put a 25 lbs. mineral block on top of them. Just wantin to see what everybodys oppinion is on salt licks.
