  1. Congrats on the sprigs. They make beautiful mounts.
  2. WTG Nick! That will make a nice Thanksgiving turkey.
  3. Happy birthday Andrea!!! It just happens to be my birthday today too!!!
  4. Wisconsin?!?!? Try hunting ducks as far south as Alabama. They've really been through it by the time they get to us. lol:eek::D Congrats Shaun on a nice hunt.
  5. Great pics boomer. That's a great looking spot you were hunting. We still have a few more weeks before our season opens down here but I'm itching to get started.
  6. They don't tend to run very well without power do they?
  7. I recently finalized all the details (hotel, plane ticket, license, etc) for my waterfowl hunt in Northern California. This Bama boy has never hunted the Pacific Flyway so I'm really looking forward to it. The place I will be hunting is located about 1-2 hours north of Sacramento. I'll be spending fours days out there beginning December 1st. I hunt so much public water around here that it will be nice to get away from the crowds and hunt some private spots for a change.
  8. Nice....verrrrrrrrry nice! Congrats!
  9. Good luck TG! We don't have a fall season around here so I really can't give you any advice regarding fall hunting. Just go and enjoy yourself.
  10. Mainly Big Cypress...and when they say big...they mean big. I believe it's approximately 600,000 acres!
  11. I've never applied for the special/quota hunts in Florida before but I've heard that it can sometimes take several years to get drawn. I could be wrong because this is only word of mouth information. Any of the WMAs in South Florida have good turkey numbers but I must warn you. Be prepared to hunt the hardest you've ever hunted for turkeys. Even in early March the temperatures are hot, it's humid, and it's wet!!! Not to mention that you're competing with everyone else in the country for an Osceola turkey. Osceola turkeys don't typically gobble much so be prepared to be on the move a lot. Two years ago, Covehnter and I hunted down there and averaged about 10 miles per day on foot. The day we connected on one we had walked 14.2 miles by the time we got back to the truck. This was according to both our GPSs. I don't mean to discourage you but hunting public WMAs, especially in that environment, will test the most dedicated turkey hunters.
  12. It's never too early to start scouting.
  13. Somehow I just knew Dogdoc's name was going to show up in this thread...poor guy...he'll never live that one down.
  14. I have other obligations that will keep me from hunting Saturday & Sunday but I'll be in the woods come Monday. Best of luck.
  15. That's quite a haul. Congrats.
  16. Nice job! We still have quite awhile before we can blast a few.
  17. Details...I need details!!! Call me or shoot me an email and we'll try and work something out. I would love to chase those Colorado bulls...I might have to break out the compound though...not sure if I would be willing to take the ole longbow.

    New RT Hats

That Auburn cap is looking mighty tempting.
  19. Great job once again Cove! None of our corn fields were picked before the early season was over so nothing really worked out for us here. We had several other farmers that said they could get us permission to hunt some fields but it just didn't work out. That's just how it goes sometimes. How did your Colorado trip go?
  20. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place that I could donate some new & slightly used hunting apparel. I have numerous jackets, bibs, and shirts that I would like to donate. Some of the items are brand new and some have only been worn maybe once or twice. I would like to donate them to some type of hunting organization if possible. Let me know if you have any ideas. Tracy
  21. Congratulations on a very fine buck!
  22. Congrats on your early season success!
  23. Of the two...I would probably consider myself more of a duck hunter than a goose hunter. The only time I specifically go after geese is during the early season which only lasts about 2 weeks. Now don't get me wrong...I've whacked a few geese during the regular waterfowl season but mainly I go after ducks. The area I hunt holds a tremendous amount of gadwalls so we shoot a lot of those. During the last few years the diver hunting has been great. We've had good opportunities to take canvasbacks, ringnecks, and blue bills/scaup. Occassionally we'll shoot a few mallards, widgeons, black ducks, and pintails. Oh yeah, the wood duck hunting is always good around here too. We typically shoot a mixed bag every year.
