Our early goose season here in Alabama is September 1-15. I usually hunt geese over picked corn fields but this year we had a late freeze this past spring that killed our entire corn crop. After it all was replanted we had a severe drought. We have some corn that's ready to pick but I'm not sure we'll get to it by the close of early season.

Sounds good Matt. I'll have to see how things look around here in the next week or so. I highly doubt we'll have any corn ready to pick by the 1st of September but I'll let you know. Tracy

I know it's not even August yet but I'm starting to get the itch for some early season goose hunting. I am saddened by the loss of such an iconic turkey call collector and turkey hunter. He will be missed by many.

Well guys, I had a lot of obstacles in front of me this spring and was unable to score on a gobbler. This is the first time in a very, very long time that I've gone without taking a gobbler. I don't have any out-of-state trips planned this year so it looks like my season is over. Congrats to those that have scored and best of luck to those yet to start hunting.

Congrats! Sounds like quite a hunt.

I hunted the past 4 days and only heard one gobbler. He only gobbled 3 times and that was at crows. I finally got close enough to see him and he was by himself...that's suppose to be good right? Huh, he didn't even pay any attention to the call.
