  1. another great reason I'm ashamed to claim MN home...
  2. Feel your pain. Lost a doe Saturday night under similar conditions. Hit a bit too high and too far toward the shoulder. Tracked for 250 yards, crossed a river, tracked another 100 and blood trail stopped. Jumped a dry river at least 10-feet wide ... assumimg it could have been a true "flesh wound" without hitting anything too vital. Certainly didn't look like lung blood anywhere. Guess it's going to happen as long as we hunt...doesn't make it any easier to take though...Don't let it rattle your confidence.
  3. Shooting Federal in a 270 WSM and never ever disappointed!
  4. Anyone have an idea what a used (less than 1 box fired) Sako AV 7mm Mag would be worth? Buddy purchased rifle new, shot a box and never hunted with the gun. Thoughts or direction?
  5. Just shot my first turkey and am now HOOKED!!! I'm a gear junkie and gun freak, now looking for a turkey gun. Old 870 Express worked just fine, but gotta get specialized since I WILL DO THIS AGAIN, and AGAIN, and AGAIN.... can't believe I waited this long to hunt turkey! Really like the looks of the 870 SPS with the camo and thumbhole stock.
  6. Sierra Gameking 117's shoot best from my Ruger. Nosler Partition 115 gr are deadly.... Gun didn't like the Hornady SST.
  7. several listed on gunsamerica.com, if you want to spend 2G's.
  8. Had 1 shoulder done 3.5 years ago.....best thing I've ever done. It will be worth it. Nothing like a "brand new" shoulder after living with the pain. Just don't skimp on the therapy or rehab. Good luck.
  9. Get the Nikon Monarchs unless you want to spend A LOT MORE $$$$.... you won't be disappointed.
  10. Don't remember where, but saw something a few years ago that recommended a lot of SALT in the first wash for new clothing. Supposedly the salt "sets" the dye and prevent the fade. Tried it and seems to work, but also wash inside-out, air dry, etc.... Go figure.
  11. Re: Adding weight to a synthetic stock? Wait before doing too much. Seems to me someone had a similar question in the past and there was an "easy fix". I've seen the foam before but I'm pretty sure there was some sort of insert in addition. Sorry can't offer the right answer.
  12. Re: Where would you go... A vote for Australia if the offer truely is anywhere in the world. Africa a close 2nd choice.
  13. Re: Wisconsin Brute Nice buck, but here in MN the body would be too big to put in a garbage bag...we'd have to carry it in the back of the pickup.
  14. Re: remington 700 ml Not a fancy combination, but my 700 shoots the 240XTP's over 2 50gr. pyrodex pellets like nobody's business. Can't shoot with scopes here, so I can't elaborate on accuracy, other than to say I'm glad I'm not a deer at less than 100 yards!!
  15. Re: hunting boots Danner good, Rocky not-so-much. Put your money into the Danner's and never look back!
  16. Re: Another new step in muzzleloading? I'm waiting for the muzzleloading lazer rifle. You know the type, instantly and without recoil kills, cuts, wraps and freezes all critters while you watch thru the scope.
  17. Re: Recommend a scope for me 1. Nikon Monarch 2. Spend an extra $50 and get Zeiss 3. Nikon Buckmaster 4. Burris Fullfield II - search ebay, last week $139
  18. Re: Another new step in muzzleloading? Wo, can't wait to see how many states refuse to allow that type of tecnhology. Here in MN, "the Land of 10,000 Laws", that surely could never be allowed.
  19. Re: Omega Pricing Sorry, new Omega .50 cal, ss/syn.
  20. Stupid question, becaue I think I know the answer...Is $300 too much for a ss/syn Omega?
  21. Re: which rifle??? Someone's got to step up! Go with the Browning any day over the 700.
  22. Re: nikon or burris Own both, will taken Nikon too!!
  23. Re: Anybody Use Coon Urine? A shot on the boots for the walk in, and then a shot on the tree.
