  1. Re: Indiana turkey hunters. Not good at all. For the first time, I'm eating a turkey tag. I took a shot at a nice gobbler with my bow on opening day and missed. Too long of a shot, too windy, too many excusses ... I just missed. After that, I had my Double Bull blind stolen. Another day, I had a bird coming my way only to find another hunter between he and I (the turkey left the field over some guy's shoulder). Then I spent the rest of the season sitting listening to nothing. In the last week and a half, I heard one lone gobble. I'm actually glad the season is over.
  2. Been there, done that. I usually just shake my head and laugh it off.
  3. Re: Camo Most everything I have is Advantage Timber. However, during turkey season in N.E. Indiana, there is very little green yet. Therefore, I have a cheap pair of Wal-mart Mossy Oak Forest Floor pants and sweat shirt that blend in great with all of the brown around me. My turkey vest is in traditional Mossy Oak. Look around where you hunt for the time of the year and see what works best. Something with green sticks out like a sore thumb when nothing else is green yet. Then again, maybe it does not matter. Movement, or lack there of, is the key. Generally, unpreasured turkeys are dumb. Make your only movement to be pulling the trigger and you'll get your bird, no matter what pattern you wear.
  4. Re: Big Bucks During bow season, I took a nice Indiana 8 pointer this year that field dressed at 195. Nice and symetrical, but just shy of P&Y. Big deer though.
