  1. Wow what an awesome public land PA buck, congrats
  2. those bases tell me prob 2.5..either way stinks it ended up like that
  3. Goodluck. You really should have had 12 ringer build you a homebrew. I've built 4 s40's and I'll never go back to comm cams. Hope yours last awhile, and some a-holes don't get it.
  4. Bummer! If anything maybe he's a little lonely now and might be more eager to find his hens, or maybe he's spooked out of the county.
  5. Grand C calls custom 4 hole slate. www.grandccalls.com
  6. that's a sweet call. i was playing one his today but no luck either.
  7. way to go, this turkey hunting is easy aint it? Very nice bird and pics.
  8. Who in the world would take a shot that far at a big bird that is on his way in, haha, LOL. Get on em next time. what you doing on the opener?
  9. If I could only get off one day during the week I certainly wouldn't waste it to hunt in crappy weather conditions that may have the birds messed up, just bc it's the first day. Be patient and take off wed or thurs when the weather breaks and the birds will be fired up. Meanwhile all the guys who took off the first day and got skunked in the rain are sitting at work wishing they could have had off thursday.
  10. Cool find. I think i did the same thing this year. I found a set that are identical to the buck i shot this year (they were a little more chewed up then yours). I held them up to the rack and they are almost a perfect match, thing is he didn't do much growing the following year if they were his. I'll try to get some pics up
  11. I can't imagine they wouldn't be gobbling. They have been hard at it in PA for like a month. The season starts too late.
  12. If you havent got a copy do yourself a favor and pick it up. it's called huntin booger bottom and is one of the most enjoyable books I've ever read. If your on this site, i can guarantee you will love this book, even if you don't read books, this is a must get. Awesome story's and inside scoop on his life and how he got to where he is.
  13. I don't if anyone has picked this up yet but if your on this site you will absolutely love this book. i don't read a whole lot, this book is absolutely great. Gives you awesome insight into his life growing up and how he became who he is. You will die laughing as you read about his first deer and turkey hunts. I cannot believe the story of his first deer hunt so..so funny. Defintely pick up this book it's the best read ever, and my new favorite book.
  14. What do you guys look for when searching for them? Need some ideas on where to start looking? we used to have a good spot by this quarry, but when they expanded their operation it made the schrooms dissappear. Where's the best spot to find them?

    Down 7.5lbs!

congats man. Can you post up any more detailed info on your diet specifics? I'd like to drop a few myself and am looking for a new diet.
  16. I guess they have to come up with their numbers somehow. I do think a new reporting system would be nice
  17. First off I don't live far from you and the deer hunting in the area is really really good with alot better bucks then yrs past. I could see turning back the doe harvest just a tad, but overall it's not bad for this area. As far as reporting harvest data I totally agree with you. The numbers they come up with are basically an educated guess and I believe they are not accurate at all. With the new licensing system it's so easy to report your harvest, plus it's stays there in your profile on line under your number so you can go back yr to yr and see what you harvested, which is kind of neat to help remember. I think that with the new numbered license, every tag you are issued for big game(deer, turkey, bear) you should have to report at the end of the year whether you harvested or did not harvest. ALL issued permits(buck tag, turkey tags, all doe tags) should be reported regardless if you harvested or did not. Then you can easily see what was not reported and the guys who didn't report, their license cost a certain percentage more the following year. Revoking a license just would cost the pgc money anyway and plus the person would probably still try to hunt, just up their cost to buy.
  18. looks nice what will they run you these days, I need a 22 to shoot
  19. does this have to be a video or just some audio? Either way i doubt I know how to upload any of that stuff to the computer. I have a video camera put it records on mini tapes and trying to put that on the compu is not fun.
  20. What part of the state are you hearing them?
  21. Outstanding work Andy, looks great and i'm sure sounds great to.
