  1. Re: Attempting my first Turkey Fan Mount [ QUOTE ] I hope this picture shows first off. Next this is my first bird so Im wanting to make sure I do everything right. What you see below do I need to do any more cutting? At this point can I just tack it on a board and add borax to the center meat that's shown? Then wait a few weeks and add it to the mount I bought. id apperciate and advice or tips. Also sorry if this is been posted before but didnt see anything. Feel free to post you Turkey Fan mount also! http://www.realtree.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6000&size=big&cat=500&page=1 [/ QUOTE ] When I do a tail fan I remove as much meat as I can and pin it to a board with the front of the feathers down. You want to pin the bottom feathers out at at 180 deg. then I put the borax on the meat and forget about it for a week. After a week I remove the borax and reapply and let it set for another week and it should be done. Good luck

  8. Re: NWTF formula for scoring a gobbler each spur X 10 Beard X 2 weight X 1 then add together For example: weight = 23lbs. X 1 = 23 spur #1 = 1" X 10 = 10 spur #2 = 1.25" X 10 = 12.5 beard length = 10.5" X 2 = 21 Total = 23 + 10 + 12.5 + 21 = 66.5 points http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/turkey_score.html

  18. what kind of patterns are you getting now and what shells are you shooting?
  19. Re: TURKEY BROADHEAD JMO but I would rather use a large mech. like the rocket sledgehammer or hammerhead. Much larger cutting diam more chance of the arrow staying in the bird. But have killed them with a 100gr. muzzy 3 blade as well.
