  1. Ok...so I'm still researching and looking for my first bolt action rifle for deer hunting between $300-$400 with a somewhat decent scope. I'm not sure of the differences but NOW I'm leaning towards Savage. I have seen a model 110 at Gander Mountain for $369 and a model FCXP at Dick's for the same price. Anyone know the difference? Other thoughts?

    Perfect!

Looks like my parents are getting rained on. That's for the weather update bud.
  3. I haven't ever heard of His Song but I'll check them out. Great music!!!
  4. I will definitely check out Paid In Full. I am definitely familiar with all of the others you mentioned as well. Not sure if you know this but Mark and Danny both sang with the Cathedrals for awhile. And I love LORDSONG! My wife have sung some of their stuff and have talked with them a bit.

  6. Wow! How can you love southern gospel music and never have heard of the Goodman?!?!? I too LOVE southern gospel music. The Goodmans were great along with so many others...Inspirations, Kingsmen, Rex Nelon, Hinsons, Cathedrals, Gaithers, Gold City, etc. etc. etc.
  7. Barton family has been lifted up!
  8. I really enjoy lifting but haven't done it in quite awhile. I hope to get back to it...and stick with it SOON!

    Scouting

Ok...I'll admit it...I've never really done any scouting prior to deer season. But I have a decent reason...I think. Normally, I have hunted with buddies who either own the land or have already scouted it. Anyway, I'm just looking for some tips and suggestions as I want to do some scouting this summer in an area I will be hunting in the fall. So, I'm thinking that I need to walk through the area looking for signs (scapes, rubs, etc.) and then do exactly what I would if I were hunting...basically park it in a treestand before sunrise then again well before sunset. yes? no? Forgive the ignorance but...He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

  14. Ok...so basically I'm looking for my first bolt action rifle for deer hunting between $300-$400 with a somewhat decent scope. From this post and others, it sounds like I need to look at the Savage 10 (or 110?) or the Stevens 200. What about the the Remington 770? What other options/recommendations?
  15. LOL! Have a great day and a happy birthday bud!!!
  16. I haven't ever received a hard cover version. Maybe I need to start ordering more...

    Sleepwalking

Evidently I do have conversations with my wife while I'm sleeping but, to my knowledge, I have never done any sleepwalking.

  21. Sometimes those spontaneous vacations are the best ones. Have a great time.
  22. I am considering a Remington 710 combo in 270 for a basic deer hunting rifle. I've read some pretty decent things about it so far but wanted to check with the pros on RT. I'm sure I would evidently want to upgrade the scope. I'm assuming I could swap out the stock at some point if I really wanted to...or I could just camo it. Regardless, anyone have any thoughts or experience with the model 710?
  23. Welcome aboard...we are so glad to have you here.
