NO WAY!!! But the wife did come out right after it happened. I had to hold my tongue when she said, "Oh! It's leaking alot under there!"

Usually by this time, I'm covered in oil and can't see because I have oil in my eyes so I'm feeling my way through each step. I'll try to keep this in mind though. I really do enjoy changing my own oil and working on my vehicles.

I completely agree! Chris is a great guy. He is always very helpful and willing to go the extra mile for folks. Many of his posts put a grin on my face, especially when he provides spell checking.

Oh...there would have been no "line" of oil. It was a FLOOD!!! However, I did shut it down right away!

Make sure you check to see if the gasket from the old oil filter is not still attached to the engine BEFORE installing the new oil filter. It's pretty awesome how quickly the oil shoots out when you start the vehicle but WOW! It certainly makes one heck of a mess!!! :mad::eek:

This is a great idea. In the past, I have put in screw-in steps going up, climb back down, grab the hang-on, climb back up (all with a harness on), and then attach it to the tree. Not the easiest thing to do by yourself (actually with someone watching below) and this way but it works.
