I would like to get a pair of 10x42 binoculars for the upcoming turkey season. Don't have a lot of money to spend though. What's the best binocular for the money?

A friend of mine got me some Winchester Extended Range shells for a Christmas gift (3 1/2'' #6). He claims they shoot better with a stock choke than a tighter after-market choke. I shoot a Mossberg 835. I have several chokes, everything from a .670 to a .695. Does anybody have any experience with these shells?

So...what's the difference between a 50 gr. Triple 7 pellet and a 50 gr. Triple 7 Magnum pellet?

Unlike many in this forum, these shells did not perform well in my Mossberg 835. I tried them (3 1/2" #5&6's) with 2 chokes (C-N-C XXX Full and a Trulock .680). I'll try again with different chokes another time.

Re: Gobble Stopper and Comp n Choke Strut...I've been putting off using the Xtended Range shells with my Comp-N-Choke thinking it might do damage like the Hevi-Shot. So, these are safe to use??

Do you have to use the special anti-seize lube on your chokes and breech plugs or can you use other anti-seize like the Loctite Silver Grade Anti-Seize?

I've been shooting the T/C Shockwaves for a couple of years now and recently noticed that some of the plastic sabots are longer than the others. Has anybody else noticed this? Will these group different than the shorter ones?

Has anybody tried these new sabots? Do they group the same as the regular Shockwaves?

Re: peanut butter!! I've tried the peanut butter but around where I hunt the coons and squirrels seem to consume the most. I have to go with JIF as it is made just up the road in Lexington, KY.

Re: 2nd KY gobbler: tagged out Congrats LimbHanger! I'm also a KY hunter who tagged out! Saturday morning shot a 20 lb. tom with 10" beard and 1" spurs at 10 yds. Sunday morning shot a 21 lb. tom with 9" beard and 1" spurs at 45 yds! Great feeling, isn't it?!

Re: COMP-N-CHOKE results I also shoot an 835. I've tried the Comp-N-Choke XXX Full .670 and failed to get good results with the 3 1/2" Winchester HV #5's. Got better results with the 3", #6's with this tube. The Federal Flitecontrols were terrible with this choke but I knew from what I heard that they would be because the choke is ported. This past Sunday I shot a nice tom at 45 yds. with my current set-up: Trulock .680 non-ported choke with Federal Flitecontrol 3 1/2", 2 1/4 oz., #5's. I would actually try the Flitecontrols with your stock Mossberg Ulti-full choke and see what results you get before spending any big bucks on an aftermarket tube. Good luck!

Re: THOUGHTS ON KENTUCKYS OPENING DAY HUNT! Saturday and Sunday were completely different here where I hunt in Robertson Co. Saturday morning the birds were not gobbling at all on the roost. That was a first! When they hit the ground they started up. I shot a nice 20 lb. bird Sat. morning at 10 yds.. Sunday morning I must have heard 10 different birds on the roost gobbling their heads off. Shot a nice 21 lb. tom at 45 yds.

Has anybody tried the Federal Heavyweights in their Mossberg 835? How were the results and what choke did you use?

I'm wanting to buy a camcorder to video wildlife and maybe some hunts. I know very little about what's out there. If you guys were going to buy a new camcorder would it be the Digital, DVD or the hard drive type? How does the hard drive type playback?

My Mossberg 835 has a problem of not ejecting some spent shells (3 1/2"). I called Mossberg and they told me to send them the gun. After about a month they sent it back and said nothing was wrong with the gun and it was probably the shells I was using! Shouldn't this gun be capable of shooting and ejecting all brands of shells? I know that 2 of my friends have 835's and they have no problems at all!

Who makes copper friction calls? I know I've seen them before but can't remember the company's name.

Just wondering what choke you guys use for these shells in a 835? I heard it was better to use a non-ported choke.
