  1. I know a few Elks that waller just about anywhere after a membership meeting........
  2. I have a couple of spots I use ground blinds only because of lack of good trees. I didn't want to leave my double bull out for long periods of time because of the close proximity of some houses. I was afraid of someone with sticky fingers. So I built them out of Cattle Panels and steel post's. I also bought some cheap flat black cloth at walmart and covered the inside like a double bull. It helps with not getting back lighted. I actually got the idea from a Monster Bucks Video where Bill was hunting the Perlitz Ranch I believe and was on crutches. I covered them with Grass hay I rolled out of a round bale and attached it with some plastic zip ties. I check them from time to time and if they need some upkeep I fix it and get out. They almost resemble a big hay bale.

    Mafia Wars

I agree Farmtown is where it's at. My whole shift from work is hooked on it.
  4. Go to a local farm machine dealer and ask if they have a junk section. Most do. I did and got the materials for practically nothing. I made a 4 row corn planter from and old 12 row frame. Cut it down and moved the boxes and put a 3 point hitch on it that fits a kabota. Works like a charm. My neighbor who farms for a living has borrowed it to replant patches in his fields before.

  10. We too are preparing to go to the field(if it ever stops raining) and this is the first year I didn't even apply for a tag. I figured out over the last 9 years after only taking one bird I was not meant to be a turkey hunter....

  12. Looks like a good buck. Good Luck finding him this fall!
  13. I guess we are lucky here we can hunt 7 days a week. Good luck!
  14. Unfortunately that is all to common anymore. Most of the people doing those kind of crimes pick areas that are "quiet" because they stand less of a chance of getting caught. Last year we had these three guys do that to almost 100 cars before we caught them.
  15. I have been keeping one now for about 8 years now. It is kind of neat to go back and read. I think it will be something my son will enjoy when he gets older.
  16. Ruttinbuc is right it can be darn cold the first of the morning but up to 80 by the afternoon but the important part is to have fun!

Yes I am there. It has been a great way to keep in touch with friends who I normally would talk to but once a year.
  21. I set up a trail cam back there this year Mike. Hopefully I can get a close up of him. I saw him one morning about 1 am crossing the road just south of my house back in January. He looked to be close to 170 inches. Hopefully he will get a little bigger.
  22. Mike if you can make it to Illinois you can ride with me and when we get back you can go behind the house and hunt that big buck you saw last fall
