Guess we never had anyone that picky when doing jobs. Most of the ones we did from start to finish were just the average size single family homes. Did a lot of work on some high dollar houses down south on the outskirts of the Detroit area, but most of those were hanging jobs. If we stuck around those long enough we probably would have ran into someone who wanted a smooth finish, but those were usually jobs that had different crews come in for the different stages. The hanging taping and finishing never bothered me. The sanding however was the day we all hated. The good thing was we had at least 4 guys doing it so most of the jobs took less than a day to do a house. If it was a more stable industry around here I would probably still be doing it, but not knowing if there was a job waiting after the one you were working on was to much for me. That's with working both privately, and doing sub-contract work for a company down south.

Have done a few drywall jobs before Did it for around 10 years after high school. We hung, taped, put the first coat of mud, finish coat and then sanded. We never sanded in between coats. if your experienced enough, you won't have to. Kind of curious what you mean by a smooth finish...doesn't everyone want that?? or are you talking about the imperfections in the way a wall was built causing it to bow in and out?

Don't forget about Hokes time at Ball State. He ran a spread offense there (not the same spread option RichRod runs) with Nate Davis who had a pretty good career there. I think most people are going to expect Denard Robinson to still be the QB, but people are forgetting about Devin Gardner. He's 6-4 around 215 and can run, has a strong arm and what I think is more accurate than Robinson's. I think he'll fit the offense better and I wouldn't be surprised to see him at QB when the season starts. If/when his request for a medical redshirt clears, Hoke will have him for 4 years. That's going to be the tough part. They have talent on the d-line, and that's Hokes bread and butter. He was the D-line coach in 1997 when they had probably the most dominant line in the country. LB is where they are lacking the most depth and that's scary considering their two main LB's mouton and ozeh are gone. Secondary I think should improve. Safeties have experience, and they'll get J.T. Floyd back at CB, who missed half the season, and it looks like Troy Woolfolk is progressing fast after his injury made him miss the entire season so he should be back. There's some talent there to work with I think. It was just a matter of having a scheme and coaches who can turn that into a product on the field and in games. It's all going to depend on the coordinators he brings in and the assistants they hire. RichRods biggest problem is that he hired the d-coordinator, and then wouldn't let them pick their own staff or run their own schemes.

Been here since October of 2003

Something tells me this deal has been in place all along but I think Hoke and Michigan both knew they had at at least try for Miles. the A.D. already stated in his press conference that he didn't think Harbaugh was coming, so I imagine they didn't put much effort into getting him besides offering a boat load of money. MIles was a long shot, no reason for him to leave LSU, but they had to at least entertain the idea of him coming. For this deal to be done so fast after Miles declined makes me think Hoke was the guy all along.

Well I was wrong...I said by the end of the week, but I should have said Hoke would be the coach by the end of the day.

Michigan HAS to go after these big name guys. It's not a given they are going to come crawling just because it is Michigan. I don't see how anyone can say that it is a career killer job after having one bad coach for 3 years. Look at the two guys that have been mentioned and look at the programs they were/are at. Why would anyone leave a top program for another one that would take 2-3-4 years to rebuild from the last guys mistakes? Michigan or not, no job is going to be desirable to a coach who has the option of going to the NFL, or a coach who has a top recruiting class coming win with a chance at another national title. I'm a Michigan fan, but I knew Harbaugh wasn't coming here once the NFL rumors started. Les Miles, not a big shock but I thought they had a chance. Maybe they took his age into consideration and didn't want to have to go through this again 5-6 years from now, so they didn't offer him the money he wanted. If I were a betting man, I'd say they offer and get Brady Hoke by the end of the week.

When are you taking your tree down?
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2 replied to Ravin R10 man's topic in Lounge
Ours usually goes down before new years. We were slacking a bit this time though, it just went down a few days ago . Only thing left up are the lights on the house, I don't feel like climbing up and taking them down yet. -
THE Ohio State University vs. Arkansas- a game analysis
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2 replied to muggs's topic in NASCAR and Sports
The NCAA has insurance policies they can offer athletes. Looked up the name of it and this is what I found: "NCAA's Exceptional Student-Athlete Disability Insurance program" http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/ncaa/NCAA/About+The+NCAA/Budget+and+Finances/Insurance/sainsuranceprog I'm guessing since it says the NCAA sponsors it, then they pick up the tab. -
He was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight. He announced all of their guests and then had a little interview at the end. Said he is now the official announcer/commercial voice for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and his first commercial will air Sunday during the Nevada/B.C. bowl game. Great story, I wish him well. He sounds very grateful for this second chance in life.

At what point do you think to yourself "I got this!" or "it could happen!"...? Can it be compared to a perfect game or no hitter thrown by a pitcher?

My guess is that people tried playing a real life game of angry birds

Yep, to delete your account just click on settings at the top of the page and you should see a "delete account" tab.

I ended up just taking it down. It wasn't a big hassle since it was just out back. I'll put it back up around early to mid June when the water there starts to go down.

3 weeks seems right about the time they updated their site. I still go there every now and then but I can't stand the new format. They sent me an email with a changed temporary password (I'm guessing they did this with everyone), and you don't sign in with your user name anymore, you use your email address.

Yeah, I have a ton of straps I can replace them with. My big concern is that area getting a bit swampy in the spring time when things start to thaw out. It is probably only about 6 inches or so of the bottom of the ladder that would be sitting in the water for a few months and don't know how it would effect the stand, if it would rust and ruin it.
-
Any of you leave your ladder stand(s) up year round? I have one sitting out back that I used a few times, and I am debating leaving it up of not. Not worried about people taking it, but I am wondering how messed up it would get back there. It is in an area that floods in the spring time, would this hurt and rust the bottom portion of the ladder? or will it be fine? It is an Ameristep 2-man ladder stand if that matters.
