Re: Osceola Turkeys i have always been told there is an imaginary liine that runs through Gainsville, the osecolas are south of it....not saying that Gainsville doesnt have em....whiskeyswamp obviously got 2 there i would say hybrids are what youd see more of....i hunt the orlando area, well just outside of orlando, there aint no arguing that these birds are osceolas....good luck

Re: To all the ladies who hunt and fish. well, i thought he was ok, but then he sent me another email.......this is what he wrote: poor taste?!!....not hardly!.. people like you, who must take themselves, and the feminist viewpoint so seriously, are a small, humorless minority. I write to an Ozarks audience of about 400,000 men and women, who have read my columns for twenty years and support it entirely. Sixty percent of the letters from them, some 1000 plus each year, come from women who say they never miss my column and love to read it. read the letters from readers on my website...www.larrydablemont.com I realize there are a few men-haters out there who lead miserable, humorless lives and will find fault with any of us who poke fun at the battle between the sexes. There are not many of you, and most of us do not much care what you think. I am thankful my daughters were born with brains, and common sense.... as well as the ability to laugh. l.d. this guy is an ****, plain and simple......

Re: Importance of Yelping on a Call [ QUOTE ] A Patient hunter can kill alot of birds by scouting and using only clucks and purrs, especially on hard hunted Public Land. [/ QUOTE ] amen to that.......i've taken 4 out of 5 birds this way...the other i had to talk too, it was yelping, but that was what was bringing him in fast, i think it all depends on the bird.....i would definately stick with the clucking and purring on public land...an occassional yelp....

Re: Dog Huntin\' i hunted with dogs for deer one time....it was exciting...it was private land,700 acres.....the dogs chased 2 yearlings around in the brush, i could here the deer moving, got the adrenaline going for sure, but that was followed by disapointment, but i was glad i tried it, i dont think it's something i'd do alot of by anymeans, but i had to try it before i formed an opinion of it....i used to be antidog hunting bigtime ...and i still dont agree with the way some of these dogs are treated, but this year during the 2 week long hog hunts, not one dog was killed or lost that wasnt found, i saw more radio collars and transmitters in the air this year then any other...it was good.....but in the years past, i got soured on this sport real quick....because of the dogs owners, not the dogs...but then i asked my biologist buddy about the muscles being like jelly after a chase because my hogs meat wasnt firm at all, he suggested it may of been from the chase , then he explained what happens to deer when they are chased for any long distance....the muscle turns to jelly, they might live through the chase itself, but then the kidneys give out....it happens alot when they capture deer, they're fine , then dead....it's called capture myopathy.....this would be the reason i wouldnt dog hunt deer again...i wouldnt want that buck of a lifetime run by me just to die weeks later....

Re: Ultimate Deer Hunter Must See!! love them hog pics......that is awesome......i was watching some show the other night on the everglades and the park service, it showed a baby gator and a baby croc laying next to eachother, it was quite the site...Gators are much more handsome than those crocs....ugly lil boogers...i've seen a few gators in the salt waters around here, there's not a deer or pelican safe from them, lol....they're everywhere...i saw a Gator eating a huge hog a few weeks ago, wish i had my camrea, y'alll would of loved it....
