Re: Hows everyone\'s season shaping up?? good,bad,ugly? lost a deer during bow passed a few lil hogs and a doe......got by busted by some hogs because i was greddy and wanted the polka dotted one, not the 2 right next to me , but they were a tad small anyway, my gun didnt fire on a doe and then again on a nice hog...first time it was the firiing pin and the hog was the cap....i have hunted hard, seen alot of critters but i havent been able to get meat in the freezer for one reason or another...i have a 4 day hunt this weekend,general gun, so maybe i'll get lucky with the shotgun.....i'm fortunate than most of the hunters where i hunt, at least i am seein' them...

Re: Do you remember your first deer. my first deer, i'll always remember......passed up a lil spike that litterally walked under me, i got so excited , i called my sister, then i saw another opne coming, i thought it was a doe for sure, so i waited, then i see tines....it was another spike, but this one had 9-10 in. tines.....he got to a lil opening in the palmetto's and i took the shot, after the smoke cleared, i see feet in the air,then he got up and walked off.....talk about panic, my buddy called and i started to shake, had to hang up with him because i was going to shake right out of the tree....waited until i could safely get down and i went to pee, there he was.....he walked about 3 feet and died, i just couldnt see him....double lung, i have his skin on my wall, i mounted his head and dried out his feet.....every bit i could save i did...

Re: Freak Calls i have both......the freak sounds good but is too bulky for me....i gave it to the hubby, lol.....now i just take the power crystal and my kaiser kalls.....lots and lots of different strikers....

Re: State land fall turkeys..tips good luck.....bring your compass and relax, enjoy your hunt....i would go as far as i could away from any parking areas(people)....some soft clucks and purrs would be the method i would try....maybe a kee kee or two....i wish we had a fall season , other than in archery at some of the wmas i hunt at....

Re: have u i didnt know about hunting until i was in my mid 20's.......in a way it's good because i know how i am now, i cant see me being such an addict all of my life....but then again , maybe i'm just tryin' to make up for lost time.....i've been an addict since the first hunt

Re: Lucky Hunters? i have hunted so much, 12 days so far....that's why i havent been here, lol..... had some excitement, but no harvest....going again sat and sun muzzy hunt...my muzzy's nipple was wet and i tried firing on a doe 3 times, it got 4-5 yards from me, i was on the ground, i had been hunting my stand and decided to walk out and hang out there for awhile in a tree, but they werent any, lol....she was amazing to watch, after about 20 minutes she winded me.....it made my hunt.....i'm hoping this is my weekend....my sister took a 10 pointer on public land this past thurs....now that was one beautiful buck....scored a 120 ,so it'll be a lil less afetr he's dried...i'm happy for her.... hope y'all have a wonderful hunt the next time y'alll hunt.....

Re: Vegatarian??? my oldest daughter is a vegan...yes , i said it....she wont eat anything or own anything that is animal made....fish are not on her eating list....this woman is not a true vegatarian...she's kinda like my biologist at work, she eats fish and chicken and whatever wild stuff i can bring in, lol.... when it's there.....she loves salmon, guess they dont have heads either....all these new headless fish i never knew....lol

gla dya'll got the calf out, sounds rough....i would definately be having a talk with ol nieghbor man about his dogs.....i know a few ranchers down here and i'm telling you , the dogs would never make it out of that field, especially if they saw what they had done.....
