Re: Public or private???? I hunt on both public and private and see just about the same amount of deer on both. I prefer hunting on the private land most of the time simply because I know who else might be there and where their stand sites are so we don't get in each others way. The public land gets a little crowded at times.

I also remember reading about the current "record holder" suing Rompola over the title of world record and Rompola of backing off and refusing to let it be scored. Maybe it's just me, but if that was my buck and I knew it was legit I would have been more than happy to have it examined and scored. Just doesn't sound "right" to me, personally I think something fishy with that deer.

Re: Whats the longest shot u ever connected on Got a nice 8 pointer 2 years ago with a 40 yard shot. I usually try to keep my shots under 25 yards but I do practice shooting out to 40. Only reason I took the shot was everything was just right and I just knew I could hit him. This past season I shot a nice doe at 35 yards, again everything was just right and I felt comfortable taking the shot.

Re: Whats your shortest shot Shot a doe this past season from my tree stand (15 feet up) that was about 6 or 7 yards from the tree. The ground was so soft that after the arrow passed throught the doe it buried itself in the ground so deep I couldn't get it out without digging.

Re: Ever kill 2 deer with same arrow and broadhead I've taken quite a few deer with the same arrow. I usually install new blades on the broadheads after harvesting a deer, but I'll use the same arrow as long as it's not damaged.

Re: Who shoots an older bow?? I've been shooting my Golden Eagle "evolution" for about 6 years now so I guess that makes it old,,, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Kills deer today just as efficiently as it did when I first got it. The only thing that's changed is that I switched to carbon arrows 2 years ago.

Re: smells??? I love the smell of the salt water marsh while sitting in my duck blind. That and and the smell of the woods in the fall.

Re: Albino deer! There are a couple running around the woods I hunt on Long Island, they are strange looking, especially the first time you see one.
