  1. Yeah I know, deer like this are not normal to this area either! I knew it was a big rack, but this boy had no ground shrinkage when I walked up! A bunch of people said he was about 4-4.5 years old. Ill ask the taxidermist. BTW, he is a main frame ten with two stickers. One is hiding behind the main beam. Both are longer than one inch. To me, he is a 12 point! I seriously doubt Ill ever beat this deer here in PA. So unless I get something bigger(which the wife hope's not!!!) Ill be done mounting any more deer! There is always fish!!! LOL!!! Thanks all!!!
  2. Thanks all who replied! Maybe its the mossy oak camo......LOL! If I was richer, I would replace that.
  3. Happy VERY Belated Birthday Luke!!! Sorry I missed your day!!!
  4. Hello Mike! Good to see your doing ok!
  5. I dont get in here much anymore. But I wanted to share this with all of you! The night before the opening day of rifle season, I have the worst night of sleep ever! I was lucky to get three hours max. Been fighting this problem for several weeks. But I get up at 3AM, get my shower and load up the truck. Dad gets here with the coffee and Micky D's sandwiches. As dawn fast approaches, I am trying so hard to stay awake. Around 6:50AM I hear my first shot, this perks me up! Finally after the archery season shows me no deer, 8:50AM six does run past, now I am really perked up! But I am looking for that buck, no buck in particular, just a buck! Call dad on the radio, he seen a few does and a small buck. I am thinking maybe things might turn around, nope! 12 noon, no deer since, thinking about packing it in for the day. 2PM I have everything packed, then two more does show up, ok, Ill stay till four now... Sitting there debating about telling my father about leaving early on the first day of PA's rifle opener. I hear a crack of a branch, which sounded like something stepped on it! I hear leaves being walked on, but see nothing! Darn squirrels I am thinking! But then I see a rack moving, but this is not just any rack! ITS HUGE!!!! I noticed two other deer, but never made them out. At this point, my full attention is on this buck! He disappears! I am frantically looking! I found him, and he is walking towards me, cool! Then he stops dead in his tracks looking right at me about 80 yards! He drops his head and swings it right up at me! I am now thinking he knows something is not right! He makes a step up towards the top of the mountain, I squeezed the trigger, threading my bullet between the two trees into his chest. He fly's back down which in turn I followed another shot. Thinking he is down, I grabbed my pack, reload the mag just in case. Once I get within 30-40 yards of him he jumps up, but cant get nowhere, I dispatched him with one more shot! Here he is!!! Un-official score is 166 5/8. I will have it scored and entered into the PA's books if it makes it. The taxerdermist thinks it will.
  6. Nice buggers REM! That looks like a smallie bug krich! Nice ties guys. Sorry I haven't been in much. Been playing some PC games and working like a dog the last few months plus trying to get some archery time in as well. I got to get tying some new patterns here soon. Ill post them up later!
  7. Same here! Busy at work and spending more time with the family.
  8. Started surf fishing last year while on vacation. I got a 12 foot rod with a spinning reel, filled with 30 pound braided line. Using braided line requires that you use taped fingers or a casting aid. I have a Break-A-Way cannon line release. This safely holds the braided line without cutting your fingers. As far as bait, cut bait seems to work the best for me. Ill start out using cut pieces of squid until I catch a bluefish. Then the bluefish will out catch any of that squid. Start with some basic surf rigs and different weights till you find yourself holding bottom. A sand spike is required, because holding that rod is a pain, especially if you have more than one rod. I made mine. Small cooler for bait, small knife, circle hooks, different size weights, sand spikes, pliers, cutting board, and a tackle bag.
  9. Very cool!!! Years ago I custom made one on Honda's web site. Got laid off and never thought of it again! It was silver with the tribal design on the tank. I still have the pic! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr now I want that 1800!!!

  12. Case mods? Changing the outside appearance? No. I spent enough money at this time! LOL! Don't want to make momma any madder! LOL!!! Besides, it sits inside a cabinet in my desk. The front fan does glow RED when fired up though, thats about the extent of any extras.

  14. Nice ties, sorry it took me so long to get in here! Been playing around with a new PC. As long as it stays fun for you, you will keep tying! Youtube is your fly tying friend!!!
  15. From my new PC that I built from the ground up! Man! This thing is fast!!! :jaw: I will never buy from a name brand ever again! If I can build one anybody can! I have some pics that I will post as soon as I get Photoshop loaded, LOL!!!
  16. Nice fish!!! Looks like you guys had a great time despite the rain!
  17. The SSD's are already here! Very expensive, but here! 120 gig drive for about $200-$250. Seen some others, 500 gig drive for about $1800!!! Not for me! My case can hold six hard drives, plus five bays for DVD, CD, Blue ray, and others. I already got two one terabyte drives about four months ago. So storage is not an issue. Yeah I have a Windows 7 PRO disk to throw in. Only problem now is finding the proper RAM to use. Been doing a lot of reading and researching, and it seems that this board is finicky about what RAM it likes. I just want this build done before Battlefield 3 comes out! Which is in the fall, but then hunting seasons will be here as well. Getting this done now is the plan. I have the case here now, its a BEAST! Just making the final decisions on the board, then the order will follow.
  18. OMG, I am turning into a tech geek! :1eye: Maybe it will be something for when I no longer have a job. The printing business is all going to china.
  19. Well, it depends on what you buy. There are $800 waders, then there are $50 waders. If you plan on using these strictly for fishing, I would get the stocking foot hands down. Cabela's has waders to fit stocky people. I know I was there trying them on. But you definitely want a pair that are breathable, otherwise your going to be clammy inside them. I will not pay for Simms waders, paying for the name is not me. I go for value, but also how they are built. Thats why I have no problems with Cabela's. $200 vs. $400 Simms.
  20. LOL, Buckmasters and a radio show, your quite the celebrity now! Should have gotten your autograph at Cabela's that day! Look, I was just disagreeing with you, never said at one time that what you did was wrong! Get over it!
