  7. Wac'em Triton 100 grain 3-blade......I've never tested a better shooting head. It's also the "original" broadhead of it's design.......lots of copies now but not as good as the original, IMO.

  9. PM me......I'll have a few places you can check.
  10. Not if you want to earn a BP. You boys need to try the January archery rut hunt......nice deer, great weather, and you'll already have a license for the upcoming draw.
  11. For true Columbian Blacktail deer, they reside in the "B" zones of Northern California. For archery, you can purchase an "AO" (archery only) tag that is valid in ALL A, B, D zones throughout the state. These tags are unlimited and are valid during the archery and general season.....but you apply for them through the mail and/or buy them directly at DFG offices.
  12. I quit keeping track when I reached 100 a few years back.......30+ years of bowhunting only though.
  13. My wife and I got married on December 31st many years ago..........thought it was a great way to start the New Year.........we left the next morning to Arizona for a 10 day archery desert mule deer hunt. (honeymoon?) Don't know if that's hard core or not........but a great wife for sure!
  14. Oh heck JJl.....no worries at all. I was sort of hoping it was him, so we could update the B&C site with the hunt info. It's an AWESOME buck for sure.
  15. It's an awesome deer that has been making the rounds again........not sure who your granite man is, but there's a short write-up on it (Tophy Watch section) on the B&C website: http://www.boone-crockett.org/news/trophyWatch.asp?area=news#watchCB02560D-5C70-44BF-A669-84E2D204C730
  16. Actually, that's not correct. Now I don't particularly care for the idea of sending out a "posse" to find an animal for someone, and I'm not a fan of auction tags either, but the rumors on this incident have run ramped, IMO. Due to the fact this was a highly publicized hunt and animal, a thorough investigation was completed by B&C into ALL the rumors and allegations of fair chase issues in this particular hunt......they were all unfounded of any wrong doing and fell within the guidelines of Fair Chase. I still don't approve of the "posse" type hunting.....but the hunter did have to hunt for two weeks before locating the bull and taking him. It wasn't a walk in the park like some believe. Furthermore, "Spider" eluded and was shot at by a few other hunters during the archery and muzzle loader season. I congratulate the guide and hunter on a trophy of a lifetime.........but honestly, I wish the average "joe" archery hunter who missed him was the one to hang the tag on those massive antlers. JMO
