  1. Jeramie, if there was ever a time that I would advise to let God handle the situation, this would be the time. What makes you and some of the others, (including your pastor) think it is their duty, bestowed on them by God, to tell this man how to conduct his worship? You can wave your arms around and hold your hands up towards the heavens and do the side to side wave, stomp your feet, speak in tongues, or sing your heart out off tune. Although some may think you are all a bunch of nuts, you feel like you are endowed with the “Holy Spirit” and aren’t in control of your own bodies any more. If you feel that God Almighty is in control, I say get out of the way and let Him drive. I have never heard of such a thing as what some of the responses are eluding to in this thread. I was a founding member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, and rode, worshiped, prayed, and witnessed to the lost, for many years with this fine group of Christians. Slowly our non-denominational or multi-denominational organization was taken over by charismatic Christians called Pentecostals. These new members pushed many of us away because we were not as charismatic as they were. Since we did not speak in tongues or wave our hands in the air, we were preached at as not being saved, being without the Holy Spirit, or simply lost souls. Finally, and without ceremony, many of us faded away, having been made to feel uncomfortable in the very organization we started. Some of these holier than thou Christians demanded that God help them when they prayed. They told me that God was their Father, and that as His children they were allowed to make demands of their father, just as children make demands of their biological father. You should have heard them making demands of their Heavenly Father to heal one of our members who had cancer. The cancer victim died. The ones who prayed their demands blamed the non-charismatics, because we did not show the faith that they did. (by the way….If one of my children made demands, I would have slapped them silly.) If you do anything at all about the situation, you should see if the 70 year old man needs a hearing aid. It is possible that he cannot hear the appropriate times to yell "Halleluiah", or "Amen", or "Praise the Lord", or "A wet bird never flies at night." Maybe he is like my father who now suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, and when he doesn’t understand something he loudly laughs, because he now must let God control his body. Whatever you do, please don’t drive away the very person who may need your congregational fellowship the most. I pray that you all will make the “right” decision. Amen ....popgun
  2. Welcome to the forums. You should probably first rent a booth at the big Shot Show and just show everyone what you have. Maybe you will get some interest from some of the large garment manufacturing companies. By the way, Al Gore said he invented the Internet, and I don't think he made a dime out of it. ....popgun

    Quick Question:

buck1_110506 posted for buck1 Fawn Join Date: Jun 2007 Posts: 1 quick question: posted for buck1 Im new here....can anyone tell me if there is a way to search for a member by where they are from or something?? I dont know their user name....please help, thanks. Welcome to the forums buck1; A couple of years ago there was a frapper map here with locations etc. This is the link, but I can't seem to get the map to work like it did in the good ol days. Maybe this will help if you can get it to work for you. http://www.frappr.com/realtreeonlineforums I'm starting this in a new thread because it just isn't polite to hijack the thread on chicken pox, and because more will see your post this way. Being new, I think you will be forgiven for the hijacking, and again I wish you a hearty welcome. ....popgun

    TR Logo

It took a little extra thinking effort, but I think he is talking about this. http://www.realtree.com/store/detail/12/startat/12/s/0/ Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with the new Team Realtree logo. I sorta like it with the swirl. Now that's 15 minutes of my time I'll never get back. ....popgun
  6. VG $210. ,Exc. $265., Perf. $385. 1984 Sorry, you wasn't clear about the model in your first post. ....popgun
  7. My book says $VG $260. Exc. $340. and Perf. $500. This is assuming you are speaking of the 1100 with the vent-rib barrel. Less if not. Hope this helps. ....popgun
  8. Now that we have so many administrators, maybe the identified photos can be replaced. OOPS....That thread is now gone, gone, gone... I guess there wasn't enough interest in saving them. Oh well.....What else is new? I guess we wasted our time looking through 4300 unidentified photos. ....popgun
  9. Without the model number it is a little hard to determine, but most of the Harrington & Richardson single barrel models in my book show between $30 and $75. It looks like you are describing a Damascus barrel, which cannot handle modern loads. They were made for Black powder in brass casing shells that didn't produce the pressures of todays ammo. It would be my estimation that if it has one of these barrels that it would be worth even less and best for a wall hanger. Too bad too, because the polished up Damascus barrel is a pretty thing to behold. Let us know if you have a model number. Hope this helps. ....popgun
  10. Hey Grant, I've been wondering where you've been lately. "]http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2003/06/15/bikepics-50504-200.jpg "]http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2001/04/27/bikepics-1691-full.jpg "]http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2001/04/27/bikepics-1688-full.jpg The above links will guide you to some photos of the bike with the previous owner. Well….maybe not…but it could be. Tires worn out. Shocks worn out. Transmission worn out. Clutch worn out. You’ll be at least the 3rd owner. Has it ever been laid down? Remind him that the bike is 11 years old and start at $1600 and go up to $1800. If you can afford $2300. + tires, why not find a small car or truck? ....popgun
  11. I would like to see the hood and roof of the truck. I would like to see how you blended the branches so there would be no seams shown where the hood, top of the fenders, and roof meet the sides. Climb on top of a building and take a photo downward. I'm not a fan of jacked up trucks. I'm always afraid one will hit me in the side and come through my side window. I think they are dangerous to other vehicles because the bumpers and framework is so much out of line with the normal cars and trucks. It looks good though, what I can see of it. I would have gone with a different pattern with leaves and branches. I guess I'm just not a fan of that particular pattern. I might grade the workmanship as an A++ if I could see some close-up photos. ....popgun
  12. I know the guy said it was a 46 star flag, but I don't think it was. The 46 star flag was introduced in 1908 for the introduction of Okla. into the Union, but it had broken rows. When I paused the video, the flag was a 48 star flag with straight rows, which makes sense, since there were 48 stars in 1957. I think the guy was just mistaken. STILL TOO COOL!!!!!!! ....popgun
  13. Grant, the reason I am quoting your last post is because you may delete it again and it looks like I am replying to a post that isn't even there. In answer to some of your added questions... I have owned a lot of bikes and it depends upon the bike as to the expected mileage life of the motorcycle. I've seen really good Touring motorcycles that have as much as 50K and have a lot more to go. Most riders don't ride as many miles as they do in a car or truck. 5K per year is heavy usage for most m/cycles. I have put more than that on them in a year, but that would be average. I would not buy a used sport bike because the owners of sport bikes have a tendency to ride them hard. Usually young sport bike riders will go through the clutch, transmission, and brakes along with two sets of tires in the first 15K miles. I do know a couple of guys that have put as much as 10K on a bike in a year, but have a tendency to let off once the new is gone, and they get rained on enough. If you could find a m/cycle that is "adult ridden", and well cared for, and garage kept, you're better off. Look for rust in the tank, water in the oil, oil leaks, bald tires, etc.. If a bike has bald tires and only 5K miles, someone has been dogging the heck out of it. There are a lot of bikes out there to choose from, so don't get too anxious to open your wallet. As far as a test ride... I have sold a few bikes in my time, and I will tell you right now that I will not offer to let someone take a test ride unless they show up at my house riding something at least as big and powerful as the bike I'm selling. I'll take them for a ride, but I will not let anyone ride it until I have the cash in hand. Expenses, as far as maintenance and upkeep.... If you can do it yourself you will save on labor charges at about $65, per hour. Parts for m/cycles are like gold, diamonds, John Deere parts, or boat motor parts. Most dealers will skin you alive because they know they are the only pony show in town. Before you buy any model, do a search on the web for parts like bearings, filters, tires, brake pads, cables, even body parts. Some bikes are easier to fix than others, and less expensive. Just the side cover that could fly off on the freeway that is not on securely can cost $110, and the bike looks like trash without it. Everything needs to be watched and maintained every day, every time you ride. You never get on it without checking. My advice.... Think, think, think,,,,,and then buy yourself a small truck. We don't want to loose you. ....popgun
  14. Good Luck Grant... Price is not always a factor, but the old saying that you get what you pay for usually is true in motorcycles. I would expect that bike to run about $850. and up. If you get a price of $500. I would highly suspect that it isn't in as good of shape as the one shown on Ebay. I would think that for $500. you will find one that has been in a substantial crash, or has some serious problems. When looking at a used bike I pay a lot of attention to the way it handles as well as the dents and scratches. Pay attention to the pipes, especially the header section that is connected to the bike. With a lot of machines a black tailpipe can mean excessive oil use or too rich a mixture, but if the chrome is blued near the front of the pipes it can also mean that the bike has been running too lean, and that is worse for wear and tear that running rich. 1100 is a little large for a starter bike, but you could probably handle it. Take a friend with you that knows motorcycles before buying it. As for gas mileage....It is all in the wrist. If you keep the rmp's down, you can get good gas mileage, but if you wind it out between shifts, or gear down before stops, your gas mileage will suffer. I can get 40 mpg with my Valkyrie, but I don't, because I can't keep from twisting that throttle. Keep the rpm's down and your gas consumption will also stay down. Also, tires do not last as many miles on a m/cycle as they normally do with a car, and the tires need to be in really good shape. You must learn to use both the front and rear brakes, or you will not stop when you want to. This is even more important on heavy bikes. Remember that even the best of excuses will not get you out of the hospital any quicker. There is no such excuse as,"I laid it down to avoid a wreck." You've heard of defensive driving, and you will get plenty of practice in it. You must ride as though you are paranoid that everyone is out to get you....Because they are. If we can't talk you out of it, be sure to have a lot of your friends praying for you while you ride. I found out that I spent a lot more time talking with the Lord while I was riding than when I was driving in the car. ....popgun
  15. I don't think doe kills in one year carry over to the next season. Follow this link: http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/wildlife/hunt/deer/EABFAQ.htm ....popgun
  16. My opinion... You're too big and a 250 is too small. Within a few short months you will have to look for something bigger. Look at cruisers. The insurance on a sport bike will eat up your gas savings, and insurance on a cruiser is a little cheaper. Be careful and always wear a helmet. Think more than twice before giving anyone a ride, because accidents just happen so quickly. You will never forgive yourself if something happens to your passenger and it is your fault. I'd recommend a 600cc Honda Shadow VLX with shaft drive. ....popgun
  17. This is really a sad state of affairs. I think in all the years I've been paying attention to news of rescues and attempted rescues, this is the first I have heard of the rescuer drowning while wearing a flotation device. I'm sure he had to have been wearing one, because it is the law, S.O.P. and utterly stupid not to under these circumstances. ....popgun
  18. We may be talking about two different situations here. If a person has two cars, one economical and one a gas hog, naturally the person would save by driving the economy car. I am assuming your Dad paid $7000 for the little ford some time ago, as I have not seen many little Fords worth that much after being driven 8 years. Now days it could be quite a task to find a good small car for $120 per month. You must realize that if you finance a vehicle for too long of a period, the car will be worthless before the last payment is made. ....popgun
  19. Saving Gas or Saving Money? It is not necessarily the same thing, especially if you do the math. If you can figure out your gas mileage you are smart enough to figure this out. I noticed on the news tonight how small cars and motorcycle sales are at an all time high. Most of the people interviewed, wanted to save some money they are now spending on gasoline, but few were really interested in saving gasoline. They are under the impression that they are going to save money. Let’s keep it simple and use some round numbers. You drive 10,000 miles in a vehicle that gets 20 mpg. And you use 500 gallons of fuel.Let’s say the gas price is an even $3.00 per gallon. This means you spent $1500. on gas. The new vehicle or motorcycle gets 40 miles per gallon; so in 10,000 miles you will use 250 gallons of gas or spend $750. at $3.00 per gallon. This makes a difference of $750. in 10,000 miles. That doesn’t sound bad does it? You will save $7500 in 100,000 miles. You will save $15,000 in 200,000 miles. But wait a minute...How much did you pay for the new car or motorcycle? How much was the financing cost? How much did the new vehicle raise your insurance premium? I’ve ridden motorcycles for most of my life, and I can tell you that I ride a motorcycle to be riding a motorcycle, and not to save money. You would be very lucky to get a motorcycle to run 200,000 miles without any major mechanical problems, and just as lucky to get a small car to run that far. You say the price of gas is going to keep rising, but so is the price of economy cars and motorcycles. If your motive is to save gasoline, so that we all can have more for the future; go ahead and get rid of that paid for machine you are driving now and buy a new economy vehicle. But if your motive is to save money……do the math. Before buying anything on credit, see if the amount you have left after paying all your bills is enough to pay the note, the increase in insurance, and the extra personal property taxes. This has been a public service announcement. ....popgun

    Missing Photos

I realize that admin is one busy person, but why did admin ask us to identify our photos if admin is not going to fix them? Many of these identified photo replies are over two weeks old and still no changes. Mr admin has not even responded in the very thread that he requested that we reply to identified photos. There are several forum members in here that are wondering why the participation has dropped so significantly over the past month. Maybe it is because some of the photos in older post are not showing up. Maybe it is because they are feeling like Mr admin doesn't care. I realize that this is a tasking job, but it is something that the individual members of the forums cannot do. If we simply re-post our photos they still will not show up in the original post, because they will have a new URL, or whatever it's called. If you will tell us how we can fix this situation ourselves, there are several of us that will make the time to help you. ....popgun:confused:
  21. I was 18 when I left home. There was a thing called the "Draft" back then. I was married at 21 and we lived in a mobile home until I bought our first and only, and last house at the age of 29. ....popgun
  22. You really need to check out some pawn shops. I paid $300. for the 669 and $350. for the 5906 shown in this photo. Older models are like MotorHomes. You can get an old one with only a few miles on them if you look. Most handguns are taken to the range a few times and then kept for home protection, but have only a few rounds fired through them. I never buy “New” unless it is something on the market that I just have to have, and there are no used ones available. Avoid buying a handgun that was used by the police department though. They are fired at the range often, and have some hard miles on them, just like their used police cruisers. ....popgun
  23. Following your criteria, I would recommend the Smith & Wesson 5906 or the Model 669. Both are super good shooters, and basic difference is one is a little larger than the other. ....popgun
  24. I've been out for awhile due to a sick computer and I'm just now catching up with all the reading. I missed a lot in 25 days down time. This article may explain why my son and I have not been drawn for a tag. My son won two of the auctions for the Illinois hunt for the benefit of one of our forum members a couple years back. Each year my son re-applies for the permits and sends in the license and tag fees etc. Months later he finally receives a notice that we were not drawn and they return his fees that had to be paid in advance. It has become too much trouble for him to mess with, and I think he has finally quit applying. Too bad that guided hunts were auctioned that can't be redeemed, but we learned a good lesson and there are no hard feelings from either of us. We're both just glad that we could help when we were called upon, but I could just about bet that it won't happen again. ....popgun

I have been out of pocket for the last 25 days due to a sick computer. I have gone through the unidentified photos and 11 are mine. If I post the links on the forum page the photos will also show up. I have copied and pasted the URL's and links so you can put the photos back in my gallery. What identifying numbers do you need to make the shift? php/photo 20295 20063 19235 19129 19128 19127 19126 19124 19120 19114 19113 Thanks ....popgun
