Nick, maybe they enforce speed laws because that is their job. Despite what you think traffic collisions caused by people speeding kill a lot more people every year than the other crimes you named.

If you are looking for something fast, sporty, with 4 wheel drive, and the most powerful engine out there get a renegade. That is if you can find one that hasn't sold already.

Big smallie, nowhere near 12 pounds. He claims it was 22 inches long. I have had the pleasure of catching a fat 21"smallie and it weighed a hair over 7 pounds before I released it. I have seen two other smallies in the 21-22 inch range and the larger weighed under 8 pounds. It is a nice fish, but he is very mistaken on the weight.

Sorry to hear of the loss. That looks like a great trip. That isn't Eagle Lake by chance, is it?

I finally got the rifle I ordered and took it out to the range today. Tikka T3, Laminated stock, stainless steel, .300 WSM. Topped it with a Zeiss Conquest, 3-9 X 40. The gun has the best trigger I have ever shot, and I can't believe how smooth the bolt is. It is still pretty light though, and after 15 shots I am feeling it. I may need to look into some recoil reducing options before I do a lot of target shooting with it. Factory 180 grain winchester loads were all I had today, and after I sighted in I shot a 1.5 " 5 shot group at 100 yards...and if it wasn't me the gun clearly would have shot tighter. I can't wait to see what this gun can do with some time and different loads.

Well I tried last time, but I was too dumb to figure out the picture post was down. This time I couldn't find the old thread. So here is my new Can-am Outlander 650. They claim 30% more power than the Grizzly 660 and I see why. I had to drag my buddy's grizzy through some mud yesterday. Still a new machine, but so far I am throughly impressed. The other day all the guys I was riding with got hung up at least once, but the extra ground clearance on these things makes a huge difference and i didn't get stuck once. Oh, and the roar of the V-Twin EFI makes the memory of the higher price disappear.

The .338 is more gun than you need, and definately too much overkill for deer IMO. I have a 30-06, and 7mm mag. i sue for deer, bear and moose, and i just bought a .300 WSM. The 7mm is all the gun you ever need for moose or elk, and the .300 will do all the animals you named well. I just sighted mine in with 180 grain bullets today. Even that is getting to be a bit heavy for deer I think, but will still be reasonable if a good deer happens to wander out while i am moose hunting.

Wow, you guys are lucky. I wish i could get my garden in this early. Unfortunately the ice isn't even off the lakes here yet.

If anyone knows how to post pictures with the photo post down let me know.

Well apparently i don't have permission to upload photos anymore. Anyone know that is going on there?

Well i finally picked it up. A brand new Can-am 650 Outlander. Today I went for a ride and found out they really are the most powerful machines out there. On the lake I got up to 60 mph with tons of throttle left. Then i went and found a spot where the sun had thawed out the mud and played for a bit. The torque is amazing and the suspension absorbs some nasty bumps. Should be a good machine for dragging moose in the fall.

Here's a question. Reloading .40 cal. rounds to standarc powder charges and bullet weights, how many times can you reload the same casing before it should be retired?

I think i win this one lol! Used up my remaining tuition credits from when i was in university, and apparently overpaid last year. Just got word from the accountant i have just over $5700 coming my way.

not sure what i lost, i can't remember what i was at.

Re: Mikey\'s troubles continue! Glad that nobody was seriously hurt. COuld he have been hiding form something, sure it is possible, but i can honestly say that i have been in, and seen accidents like that. Clear thinking is not a common thing for people that make it out of a bad wreck. I know after mine i was uninjured, but my head was seriously rattled. I didn't think right for a day or two.

Re: Snow! Send that snow my way! The snow here is too hard and crystallized for good snowmobiling any more. Too much freezing and thawing lately. I need to go fishing and my new quad is still a week away lol. So i am still stuck driving my truck down the lake to fish. Yes that is right...we still have over 3"of ice. lol

Re: A lifelong goal almost in my grasp! Good luck, if the process is anything like here the best advise I can give you is this...BE 100% honest no matter what you think their reaction will be. If you have enything you would want to hide, they will find it.

Re: reloading Good point on cost HarvDog. I am pretty sure it will save me since the cheapest I can find rounds in canada is $14 for a box of 50 target rounds. And the type of practive i do that lasts about 3 minutes lol.
-
I am looking to start reloading .40 cal smith and wesson ammo. Basically for my target needs i need a lot of rounds, but most of what i shoot will be under 30 yards, and point and shoot type stuff. So i don't need to reload them to identical specs, and they don't have to be tack drivers. What is the best equipment to get to reload a lot of rounds relatively quickly?

Re: This is April PIC We've still got about a foot and a half of snow, close to 4 feet of ice on the lakes...adn it was -20 yesterday. Even for here it has been colder than normal the last week or so.
-
Re: New 4-wheeler colour Turkeygirl, Bombardier changed their atv line's name to Can-Am last year. I have no idea why, but they are a phenominal machine...and the price reflects that lol.

Buying a new 4-wheeler tomorrow and the last thing i am having trouble choosing is the colour. A 2007 can-am outlander 650...do i go with yellow to match my snowmobile, or dark green? http://www.can-am.brp.com/en-CA/Vehicles/Outlander.650/ Try switching the colour on there and let me know your thoughts!
