@VH...I got promoted to MSgt back in 2012 but I just retired from the Marines. I already landed a federal job at the middle school on Camp Lejeune. This place is dead now, what happened? Everyone leave?

I first joined these forums in 2004 timeframe (I think)... I used to be in here a lot. It's been quite a while since I've logged on last. Hope all you ol' timers are doing well.

Been great man, just busy but I guess not busy enough to have an excuse not to venture in here more often. I'll tell you one thing, this place is a ghost town compared to how it used to be:(

What happened to this place? I remember back in the day coming in here and it was hard to squeeze a thread in here, these forums are empty today. Anyhow, I did my first NASCAR race last week in Charlotte at the Coca Cola 600 and it was just an awesome time. Of course I was the newbie and the other families we were with were vets so they showed us the ropes and it was just a great time. We camped as a group there just outside of Turn 4 and had awesome tickets. I think I'll stick to hockey as my favorite sport but I must say it was pretty cool going to a NASCAR race.

For all of you who think our forum is slow or dead

It's not as lively here as it used to be, this place used to be jumping. -
All is well here in Eastern NC... living the American dream, lol

Good to see some of the old names around here. I've been busy, between deploying and college, it's been non-stop. I'm in Eastern NC for right now, I'll retire from the Marine Corps here and then who knows where I'll wind up after that. Maybe I'll start coming around more. I'm really shocked the politics room is so quiet. I remember back in 2004 that room wasn't quiet, lol... that's where I first met Buckee, lol... Hope everyones hunting season is going well for them.

I live in Eastern NC and we had maybe 40mph (tops) here over the last few days. Total rain fall maybe two inches... but it just brushed up against us down here, nothing major at least where I am at. We had much more rain and much higher winds with some of them crazy thunderstorms we had here over the summer.

Farts are the oldest, most funniest jokes in the book...in my opinion. You ask my wife, she'll tell you something completely different...

There are more issues out there than the economy, so yes, this debate was needed. Foreign policy is a major issue and it needed to be debated. I would have thought that Romney would have pounced all over Obama during that third debate, why he didn't is beyond me. Hopefully we have change here in a few weeks...

Just got back from Jordan, what a great time although driving in Amman is a nightmare. But I got to see some pretty cool places. I went to the Baptism site of Jesus and that was pretty cool because the Israel border was right there too (West Bank) and we're waving at them and they were waving at us, lol. Then we drove up to Mount Nebo, which is where God showed Moses the Promised Land. So it was really neat seeing them places, it's not every day you have a chance to do those things. So I'm back in Bahrain now and will be heading to U.A.E here in about a month or so.

Had to come over here to Amman, Jordan for a few days. Wrapped up business yesterday so today we went to Petra and to the Dead Sea to see the site where Jesus was noted as being baptized. Petra was cool and so was seeing that old discovered ancient city. Rode in on a mule and a camel so that was cool. It's amazing what they made with their bare hands that long ago. Got to see a lot of history today so that was cool. Heading back to Bahrain tomorrow to continue my one year deployment:wacko:.

Thanks everyone, I'll try to get in here more often. It's hard though, I've started my Masters program in July so when I'm not at work, I'm doing home work so it's easy to find an excuse. Glad all the old timers are doing well, how about Buckee and VH?

We got a brief on this today from our top man in the Marine Corps. 6 Republicans, 6 democrats = no decision = failure.

Yeah, it's been a while. I've been busy, that's the only excuse I have. Still lean and still a Marine, lol. Over here in Bahrain for a year, got here in April so I guess you could say I'm winding down. Miss the fam but other than that, life's been great. Just stopping by and saying hi, seeing who's around yet. Maybe I'll get in here more often... Mike

"Clancy" and "Amish Grace" are good ones that we just watched as well. I recommend "Expecting a Miracle". Very inspiring

Yeah it's been a while hasn't it, lol. Well I am finally out of Okinawa and back on US soil here in Beaufort, SC. But I'm leaving next spring for a year to Afghanistan. This will be a "trying" time for us as I have a toddler who will reach his important years of having fathery love and a teenager in his first year in high school. But God makes all things possible so we should be alright... So finally in the states where I can hunt again. Still learning the areas around here and I am busy with work and school so not sure how much time I'll get to hunt this year but hopefully I'll get to do a little bit. My bow sat in storage for three years so right now I am a little concerned about pulling that bad boy back, lol. I hope you all are doing well, hopefully I can get back in here more now and participate in some of these discussions. TSBH

I'll be on leave in Hershey, PA from the 13th of June to the 20th of July. I am game...I know we have some weekends we are going away but I can always adjust on my end.
-
I remember watching that show after school all the time, some of you "youngon's" don't remember that show, lol. Oh and I am talking originals too, not the reruns on TV Land, lol.
-
Yeah I noticed that mine did that as well, thanks for looking out!

Will be staying at my Wife's parents house right outside of Palmyra/Annville. Man I never would have guessed getting my two vehicles registered back in PA when I get home would be such a pain in the butt. It's ridiculous.

Oh your at the Stumps, that sucks. I was at 29 Palms at a CAX back in '96, what's your MOS? Are you going to COMM school? I started at Parris Island back in 1993 and I will retire right outside there in Beaufort, MCAS. When I retire, I am having my retirement ceremony on the yellow footprints outside of the receiving barracks there at PI. From there I am not shaving or running for a year, lol. John (LifeNRA), you can buy me that beer/s in June Bro, I'll be home for about 40 days on leave. We can meet at the frogs hollow or whatever that place is called there on 72.

That's right folks, less than a month and we are going back to the sweet ol' USA. Sick of earthquakes, typhoons, language barrier, having to use sign language to communicate, etc, lol. This move will also be my last move in the Marines because I can retire in 2013. Moving to Beaufort, SC for my last tour via about 45 days of leave in PA! I can't wait to get off this island!!!
