  1. Well guys, yesterday was our opener, but I've been in bed with flu symptoms since Thursday. Even stayed home from chruch today. Looks like first time out for me will be next Tuesday. BTW, very nice buck VA! I'd call that a trophy anyday.
  2. Bow season opens this Saturday and at this point the weather doesn't look good. Winds from the NNE - tough to hunt that direction. Hopefully the forcast will change. Supposed to have 40% chance of rain/snow though.
  3. No dreams for me... I oiled my release last week! Just 18 more days Ruth, hang in there.:crutch:
  4. Basically the same thing here in NY.
  5. We just harass the heck out of them by banging on the walls. Then they leave.
  6. Slash, are you sure that doe isn't "part cow"? Nice job - again... Now go out and shoot some squirrels for our other contest! :clown: 18 days 'til my bow opener in upstate NY.
  7. Guess I scre... messed up... got 4 on the opener (before signing up for the contest)... no pics, no points! Anyway, what are the chances that Slash and I would end up on the same squirrel contest team and the same deer contest team?... Nice shooting Ruth!
  8. Hey team, Slash - awesome job on great buck! Been really focused on school work the last two weeks. Just taken a break from studies to see what everyone is up to.... Got my stands up this last weekend - seen a nice buck in the corn. Lots & lots of sign in the area, and expect a good year. Happy Hunting!
  9. I went out last Tuesday - squirrels in every tree! Lots of hazle nut & beach nuts this year. Hunted an area about 1-acre and saw over 20 tree rats. Passed on many more than shot at. I was a little rusty, missing the first two of the morning, then got the next 4. 3 large females and 1 small male... Going out tomorrow morning with Justin's grandpa - what a character he is. I'll be sure to take the camera along now that Joe got me pumped up and entered into the contest!
  10. That's it Joe! Now you are in trouble. Bucknrut, is in. Bucknrut 46-47, I keep forgetting! NY Sept 1 - Feb 28 6 per day
  11. Hey guys, Bucknrut checking in. I have to agree this is an awsome team! Those pics really got me thinking about the season. Mine starts Oct 17. Been shooting quite regular, hitting the 12-ring with regularity. Got a couple of food patches that have been seeing activity for a month now. Time to start thinking about hanging tree stands. Still have one more year of school, so I can't be too picky - no fawns, but anything else is in trouble.
  12. We start classes on Sept. 8th, except that I have no classes on the 8th, so my first day on campus is the 9th. And then, it's only a 2-hour hospital clinic orientation for our Sophomore class. Can't wait - already started studying for the national registry exam that is in May, 2010.
  13. I've used Federal with much success and currently having good luck with Petersons. In both cases, I use 7/8 oz rifled slugs. They have much less kick, allowing for greater accuracy. Never had a problem putting down a deer with either of these slugs.
  14. I'm never around when the real spammers appear - so they couldn't possibly be a spammer.:spam:
  15. You can shoot bucks in the "preseason"? Here in NY, it's does only - starting today!
  16. Right on Fly! I'm taking the 5th!:nono:
  17. Darn! I had plans of getting up at 1:30 to read all the blogs.:serenade:
  18. Needed to get a prescription filled tonight and I've never had trouble in the past - just walking in and picking it up. But tonight they would not hand it over without an insurance card. Okay, fine. But to close (lock up) the doors 10-minutes early when they knew I was coming back and needed the medicine - well, let's just say they be getting anymore of my business! I have zero tolerance when it comes to my childrens' health, and have no problem telling the whole world about it!:chair:
  19. What I've read/heard is that your wingspan divided by 2.3 = your draw length. Add 1" for target shooting, 2" for broad heads (hunting) arrows for their length. Sounds like your setup is in the right neighborhood.
  20. I want this guy on my team! Welcome to the forums.
  21. Maybe you can just take down the fence, and put up a deer stand nearby?:eat:
  22. I'm a Rad Tech student and we have a 7-week summer clinical that ends this Friday. I needed to complete 15 x-ray exam competency (categories) to pass the course and stay in the program. Going into last week I needed 5 exams, and business was slow. But I stuck with it, had some luck come my way when the "wrong" patient was brought into my room, and today I terminal comped on my 15th exam! Now if I can just stay out of trouble the rest of the week!:stretcher:

    Greeny here

I would look at each state's DNR website and see what game is available, and how long the seasons are. That will tell you about the hunting opportunity available. Good luck.
