    I've had many a gobbler strut right past my parked pickup. Long as it doesn't move, they don't care.

    To each his own but I hate blinds. Too cumbersome to carry 'round and I could never get it just right and I'm way to big to fit in any tents on the market today. Me, I like just sittin' up against a big ol' fat tree.

    40 is good for me. It's the close ones, 10 yards or less that give me a problem.

    Sounds like a good plan while he's in the tree. However, if he's been worked alot, I'd wait til he hits the ground to call to him. Good luck.

    He may return to that area or in all likelyhood, close by. I did pretty much the same thing this year and the tom roosted nearby again and again. Really all depends how many times he gets spooked out of the same area. Too many and he'll not roost there again. Good luck.

    Good luck, you are doing something I'd like to do with my Dad's ol Sears 16 gauge bolt action but the pattern is just too open to try.
