Thanks for the reply, Im seriously thinking of withdrawing $300.00 this week from the bank. I was just curious what the re-sell value are now days on these rifles. I bought my 30-06 A-bolt it seems like 10+ years. Thanks Again! -
I have a chance to pick up a 7MM Browning A-Bolt Boss. I have a 30-06 Browning A-Bolt Boss and love it! The guy wants $300 for the gun, cheap scope with nice sling. The gun is in very good shape does have 2 small scracths. I thought about picking it up to have a a pair of browning A-Bolts. Just curious if this sounds like a good price? Thanks!

Man the weather sucked here this weekend. Rained all day Saturday and was cold both days. I seen 1 hen Saturday morning. My buddy shot a tom 10" beard. He was soaked and was heading to the truck at 9:30AM and looked over into a field and seen a tom walking right at him and shot it! Talking about lucky dog! Then Saturday evening we seen 1 tom and 3 hens in the same field and tried to sneak up on them and I was going to get the first shot since he got a tom that morning. However he got to excited and was moving to fast and was seen!! I was so bummed out! I was sick last week and wasnt sure if I was going to go. I just hunted Saturday. I will be going next weekend both days for sure. Hope others are haveing some good luck!!

TurkeyHunter replied to TurkeyHunter's topic in Shotguns & Accessories
Re: Need help removing the stock on a 11-87 Thanks AJ! I'll see if a local gun shop has one. Being I have a few 1100's and 11-87 guns it may be wise just to buy the part. -

Re: Need help removing the stock on a 11-87 BTW the funny thing is when I went to remingtons site and look at the manual for the 11-87 it looks like it takes a but maybe on the end shows a few washers but never shows the very end of the round rod unless I over looked it. Thanks Again! -

Re: Need help removing the stock on a 11-87 No its round and has a groove running down the center top for like a flat head screw driver. However the groove is wider then a screw driver end. Its hard to get leverage and hold to gun to break it. I'm wanting to make sure im turning it the right way first I guess before getting to rough with it. Here a pic. -
I took the recoil pad off and tried using a wide flat head screw driver to remove what looks like a rod with a flat head grove but cant get it to turn. I even used channel locks on the screw driver to help try and break it free. It does turn counter clock-wise right? Do I need a special tool or try harder next time! Thanks!

How can I find out what year my shotgun was made?
TurkeyHunter replied to TurkeyHunter's topic in Shotguns & Accessories
Re: How can I find out what year my shotgun was made? Thanks AJ I'll check out the link when I get home. Its blocked here at work beng a gun site. (grin) I ordered a stock and forearm from cabels to replace my stock wood to keep it in good shape. However I have to force the forarm piece atleast I think its whats its called. When it does go on and pull the chamber back it gets stuck and wont release its so tight. I double checked the info on cabels and it should fit any 1187 (1986) or newer is why I was asking. I went a head and ordered another one hoping I just got a bad one. I would post a link to the one at cabels but of course its blocked to here at work. Thanks! -
Remington 1187 and Turkey Choke Question
TurkeyHunter replied to TurkeyHunter's topic in Shotguns & Accessories
Re: Remington 1187 and Turkey Choke Question Sweet thanks for your help! I planned on buying a new Turkey Gun this year but ran low on funds after new rims and tries for my truck. I did however have enough money on my cabels saved up to buy a camo pattern to replace the wood to keep in new. I went a head and ordered a Full Turkey Choke and a box of 3" 2oz 6 shot Magnum shells. I have some 5s at home but since Im using a new setup may need to try differant shots. Thanks again for the help!! -
Remington 1187 and Turkey Choke Question
TurkeyHunter replied to TurkeyHunter's topic in Shotguns & Accessories
Re: Remington 1187 and Turkey Choke Question Thank You! One last question My gun is the light contour shoots 2 3/4 and 3". Can I shoot 3" magnium shells? -
I have a 1187 and going to use it this year to Turkey Hunt. It shoots regular 3" shells so going to see if I can find some. My question is I was going to buy a Turkey choke for it and the one I like says "lead shot only." for this choke. Will that be ok shooting it through my regular stock 28" barrel? I just want to make sure because Id hate to mess up this barrel. Or is it steel used in most shells for Turkey hunting now days? Thanks!

Re: What do you think about feeding deer? Just my 2 cents. Where I live you can put corn out for Turkey but has to be removed 2 weeks prior to opening Turkey season. Now during deer season you can put out corn all year around if you like. I usually put out 4 bags of corn 3 times a year just spreading it on the ground. These times are during our muzzleloader and gun hunt. I do place it about 75 yards from my stand 1-2 weeks prior to hunting. Maybe it depends where you hunt and the kind of deer thats on your land. Theres no food plot on the farm I hunt and its been logged about 6 years ago. I dont think the small amount I put out hurts but just trying to keep deer in the area I hunt or farm should I say. If my state allows me to put corn out I will if they changed it tomorrow id stop! I do feel I spend alot of money and time hunting and want to increase my odds of getting a deer each year and think palcing the corn out helps. I see more does coming to the corn and when rut season the bucks are following. I guess I dont understand the part if you start feeding them you have to keep doing it. If you place corn out on a deer trail the travel on what does it hurt? It not takeing them of course there still on there same everyday path. And the small amount I do put out 3 times a year on that path surely cant make that much of a differance?

Re: 19- Team String Music I seen a lot of does again this weekend. Also seen the same 4 and 5 pointer. I missed a nice 8 pointer!! No monster or anything but a nice rack!! I was SO upset and still couldnt believe it missed. Oh well it happens I guess. hehehe If I dont go this weekend Im seriously thinking of going Dec 9th our last muzzleloader weekend. I just started seeing big rubs and scrapes last weekend. Prerut Im guessing the 2 small bucks didnt have any does around. The 8 pointer had a big doe he was following. I didnt see the doe till the last minute. She acted like she knew something wasnt right and keep stomping her foot at me to get me to move. She keep looking right at me. The buck held back a good 50+ yards working on a scrape. I just knew the doe was going to blow and give me a way so I took a shot with a lot of trees in my way and should of waited him out or another day. Im not sure if he will be back now. grrr Good Luck and sorry!
