Re: A Different Tred Barta Saw the grizzley story. Was almost Tred's best. I think it takes great courage to sneak up in bow range to a grizzler. I never really liked the guy, I just thot he was another rich loud New Yawker. Then I saw the show about him and his son elk hunting in Colorado where the boy wanted to rifle hunt his elk up close like a bowhunter has to. The father son aspect somehow added a certain amount of human quality to the show and it changed some of the neg feelings I had about Tred and I watch his shows with a new perspective.

Re: what is the most weirdest animal I am alllllmost sure its a big foot as its active (noises) day and night, and not far from my camp, tho I have never seen it or seen sign of it. It just makes a lotta durn noise. -
Re: BIGFOOT I hear one yellin and hollerin every time I go over to unit 71 to hunt or camp. Darn thing even makes a lot of noises in the daytime. I have NO DOUBT about their existence.

Re: Best Rifle 30-05 with 150, 165, 180. Wife and I both like the 165gr in our three 30-06s. Also you could try Hornady Light Magnum in the 06 if you need a little more horsepower without going to a 300 or 338. And good luck.

Re: Martin Bows? I shoot an old left handed Martin Warthog compound bow. Wood riser, wood limbs. Got it for 50.00 offa eBay 5 yrs ago. I make the occasional dead center 50 yrd shot with it. Groups at 20-30-40 are good if I do my part. I think a Martin is a fine bow, well made.

Re: DO YOU HUNT NATIONAL FOREST? I hunt in near the Lizard Head Wilderness, have often heard bigfoot calls at night. Well I think they are bigfoot's as they sound different than the local cougars cries. Also some of the scat I saw recently looks strangely humanoid as opposed to bear or coyote. Odd thing about the scat though is ther's no tracks around it.

Re: Your worst gun Back in 1964 when I was 14 I worked and scraped and saved and I ordered a Savage 99-C from Parker Bros out on Long Island. Back then you could buy guns thru the mail easy. It took me 6 months to get the gun. When it came i shot it and couldnt hit broadside of the barn open sights. So i sent it off to a gent I knew that was a dealer and he scoped it with a Weaver K-4. when I got it back I shot it endlessly trying to sight it in. No Luck. Finally my firend visited and I got him to check it our and he coulndt make it shoot to point of aim at 100yds either. this process took several months. Never could get the dang thing to shoot anywhere near anything so I swapped it for a LH Savage 110-D in 264WinMag and never looked back. Years later i bought and sold lots of diff 99 Savages in 243 but never again had the problem of one of them not shooting to point of aim.

I was reading about the recent court decisions against Mutual of Omaha insurance and for Richard Childress Racing in the matter of Dale Earnhardt's passing in 2001. It then occurred to me that the south had two of the finest upstanding #1 sports leaders I can think of... Richard Childress and Bobby Cox. These guys are two always #1 even when their teams aren't winning. I'm not a big sports fan but I do enjoy NASCAR and baseball and I think these two fellas is just about the best there is.
