Re: I need advice I assume you are talking about deer hunting? What I would do is explore other options to get him hunting close to home. Can you take him duck hunting, squirrel hunting, pheasant... Develop his interest more, let him experience some type of hunting to stoke the fire. As he gets older, I would think that going with to Tennessee will become more possible..

Re: Heading to Minnesota Your arrow is about 50-75 miles to far north, but you are in the right ball park.. I will be hunting about 75 miles north of you. Our Minnesota opener should be pretty good, the bucks are really starting to chase does, weather is pretty steady. Saturday there is a chance of rain, temps up there should be low 40,s-upper 30's for daytime highs. Good Luck.

When I am on stand, I tend to think about "weird" stuff.. Anyway, Saturday night, as the temps cooled a bit, I put on a fleece vest, I started to notice the camo I had picked for that night. Let me say, I don't mind mixing & matching, and I buy stuff I like.. Anyway, when I added my vest, I realized I was wearing 6 different patterns, RT Extra brown pants MO Breakup fleece liner shirt RT Advantage chamois shirt MO Fall Foliage hat RT Hardwoods vest. Tree Bark gloves I need to start coordinating a little bit better..

Re: Great Lakes Steelhead I go steelheading on the North & South shores of Superior.. The North shore is Minnesota. Not many steelhead, pretty good qty's of Kamloops & coho's. We do get the occasional natural steelhead. The south shore, the fishing is pretty good. Not a ton of pressure, usually do pretty good, mostly fishing the Brule..

Re: sleeping bag question? Military bags will keep you warm, but they are small. I think you can find a civilian bag that is just as warm, and will be roomier (more comfortable) Just a thought, when I bought my bag, I bought one with a liner, so I can remove the liner & be comfortable when it is warmer. When it is really cold, I add the liner back and it is really warm..
