Re: Benelli nova? hey mine is the one with max4 camo and the pistol grip never bothered me. the recoil didnot bother me untill the day after i had shot it. my shulder felt like i was going to fall off and then i took the plug out and then put that recoil pad on which held remarkably. and then when u shoot a bird with it you dont really notice it any ways.. like i said as far as i could tell they pattern well with 4, 6, 7 1/2 shot sizes i love that gun very much and any one wants it they will have to take it out of my cold dead hands modillo

Re: Benelli nova? well i had to do is take the hard rubber plug out and i went and bought a recoild pad( just a boot) and put it on nor reducer and no pain. all i paid was 10 bucks. and i did not have to buy a bunch of other stuff for it to fit. i had shot the 3 inchs with my gun and like i said no pain. modillo

Re: Benelli nova? hey i love my nova and nobayd is going to get mine ever. they are very very sweet shooting guns. light fast easy to aim. my nova is the big boy of the 12 ga. its the 3 1/2''. the big bad dude. lol. but if u want it and it feel good to u and is comfertable get it. u wont turn back. trust me i have shot my step dads moseburg and i like my nova better. i took my first bird EVER!! it was a blue grouse and i shot on the wing. that was a great feeling when ur gun fell apart of you. then you pull the trigger and then the bird falls. the gun felt like it has done that before but i know for a fact it has not because we had got it brand new.im the one who peaced them to gether. they come apart with two pins.underneeth the breach and by the trigger guard. uyou will like the gun i used size 7 shot 6 shot and 4 shot all patter great imo. good luck and happy hunting. modillo

Re: 30-30 non micro groove barrel let her pick her own rifle out. 243 is good but like i said lewt her pick it out let her chose for all other different callbers and stock styles.if you got the money and you are into reloading call and ask one of your better known companys to build a rilfe that would fit her and make it in the 30-30whinchester but you can reload the 30-30 with different styles of bullets and pwder charges. all your over the counter shells in the 30-30 are not pointed bullets if u reload say with a 150 .06 bullet its pointed which will flaten out and speed up your bullet. which increases your range and power. most of your lvler aciton are tube fed and cant use pointed bullets.so in turn they are rounded for flat nose bullets. a 270 is what my mom uses we cut it down to fit her. note: when we first got it it kicked her all over the place, and we cut it down for her and fitted it to her and it dont hurt her any more. all a 270 is a .06 necked down to a 27 cal. but note again: it depends on what your hunting and if u are not into reloadin. i shoot a savage model (plain jane 110)110 in the 7mm rem mag. for me great gun. but its dpends on her really. if your wife's 243 hurt your sister it probly due to the fact it did not fit your sister. your sister will like it a lot more and shoot more if she did. well thats all i got to say. foregive me for my bluntness i dont mean to make any one upset and good luck. modillo

Re: I need help selecting a 12 gauge i own a nova and i have to say they are sweet shooting guns. light fast and reliable too. easy to clean u just remove 2 pins and u can disasemble it under 5 mins. but trust me read the instructions it helps to know how and what not. i did not do any thing with out checking the instructions on that score, but the camo patterns are never the same they are i dentical but there different at the same time. my gramps got his the same day as i did. and they kindof kick with the hard rubber recoil pad in it but take it out and get a seperate recoil boot or pad. modillo

Re: I need help selecting a 12 gauge an remmington 870 deer gun or mossburg. whinchester what ever u want and feels good to u. thats all i can say. go to www.remmington.com or whincesterguns.com like i said what ever makes u feel good to shoot and have fun to shoot. i depends on what size u want and all those too. my 12 ga. is a 3 1/2 inch mag from benelli. it the nova and its only costed my mom 300.00 somthing bucks and u can get rifled berrals for the beneli nova as well. modillo

Re: recommendation on a upland small game dog. well my dog is a hound and she is doing great but she still has a lot to lear anbout fetching. but she is starting to go threw her first heat cycle. but i need to get her out and see how much she had progressed. but as far as i can tell she is doing great. she wants to point but i keep trying to show her but she is not catching on. i need to trian her a bit more. any sugestions on how to cure a hard mouthed pup? i would gladly accept it. i heard a medicineball (or a tenis ball with pins in it) would work thats what my gramps used to use on his. but i would rather try other options before hurting my dog. and how much good comes out of a shockcolor? modillo

Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. see i dont hunt like you easterners i can take a shot with the deer facing me face to face and still bring him down with one shot. and if he is broadside it will not move 9 out of 10 times because where i put the bullet, one inch below the spine and behind the fronshoulder and he will drop dear in his tracks 9 out of 10 times. try it you will find out your selfs. and the 150s doo put a good sixe whole in the deer. it went in about the same size as the slug and came out <on the skin>about the size of a bottle cap. beneeth the skin it was the size of a coffee can. it blew up the right front shulder and to tsave it all u have to do is soak it for about 24 hrs. in salt water. and yes they doo make a 162.gr factory load reminton does in the .06 because my dad uses them. modillo -
what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag.

Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. well say i shoot a 160gr. corelock in my 7mm mag and then use a 150. gr. in the same gun which will penitrate better . the 160 because of the speep if the slug and the 150gr. is a great round for deer sure it will blow up on bone but wont all civilian rounds do that, notice i said civilian rounds not millitary since it is very illeagle to use fmj on any game, so the 162 gr. corelock in the .06 i fout is better than the 150 gr. when my step-dad shot his deer last fall and i did not have a whole lot of blod shot in the meat and when i shot my deer with the 150gr. corelock i had shot it went in the left side of the neck and came out through the right shulder and had alot of blood shot around the shulder so i think ill try the 160gr. or the 165 gr. for deer hunting this year just check it out any ways. what do u guys think i should do. modillo -
Guns you each use for coyote hunting ?
Modillo replied to too_pointer's topic in Varmint & Predator Hunting
Re: Guns you each use for coyote hunting ? hey the 45.70 makes a huge hole yes, but the 8mm will go so fast through the yote it will have the same hole going out as it would going in because my gramps pwns a 8mm a 6mm and i own the 7mm rem mag and it makes for a good uliterian roun (i.e. big game, varmit and exotics)i like my 7mm because of the small grains for the varmit such as a 79gr. but i might use the 140 gr. instead or i might reload them with a 90 -100gr bullet and beleave it will go through them soo fast it would not have a chance makeing a hole of any sugnificant size in the pelts my rifle is a savage modle 110 chambered in the 7mm Rem. Mag.( one of the best out there imo) -

Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. JimT the only things a big bullet is for is penittration and yes an 06 will kill the same but can their slugs go way down to a 79 grain slug? the 7mm rem mag can. thats why its one of the best out there. -
what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag.
Modillo replied to Modillo's topic in Rifles & Accessories
Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. i agree aj but here is the thing, whats the sence with being afraid o the recoil. it will also make the shooter have respect for guns and teach them how to shoot that particular rifle handgun or sotgun, etc. One gun may fit the shooter and that very same gun wont be able to fit the next shooter its all based on what feel comfertable to the shooter when he/she goes and pics out their first gun, agreed? no two guns are alike. soo it does not kick as bad as people make it sound, imo. it does not kick as bad as a 30.06 or 300 mag or a 270 ect. it felt like a 30.06 to me and it has its own recoil i understand that but u have to look at it from this point of view too. if people would think about it the 7mm rem mag is the same as a .284 and it basicly is a 30.06 necked down to a .28 caliber thats all a 270 is think about it. and i am not saying this to be a jerk cause im not all im doing is trying to get people understand theese things. it only hurts if u think about it modillo -
what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag.
Modillo replied to Modillo's topic in Rifles & Accessories
Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. yea these guys are good mine is a savage Remington, Winchester, Ruger, Savage or Weatherby but go with what ever feels good to u im not going to tell u what to get but will suggest the savage because the accurecy if extremly awsome and they do not kick ****** hard as they say they do. yes they are loud i give u that mine does not kick as hard as people make it sound yes it gave me punishment when i first shot it but i shot 40+ rounds through it in about 4 hrs taking my time and the first round that i spent was place 1 inch above the bullseye at 100yds im set up at 300+yds for my rifle. i put 2 bullets in the same whole when i shot my first two shells. but like i said go with feels comfertable to you and if they (as my grandpa says if they sing to you it will allow you to shoot it and hit what your aiming at) sing to u thats the gun for you.i suggest go into pawn shops and look around for several different calibers and dont just limit your self to just one caliber. but they are all good guns and <warning they are kind of spendy for a box of shells, they range any where from $16.00-$24.00 abox> and i suggest look more at an 30.06 and guns like that i gave you all i can say about it go with what FEELS GOOD TO YOU! NOBODY ELSE! -
what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag.

Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. the 7mm rem. Mag. is a great varmit all it really is a 30.06 necked down to a .284 magnum. it is also a good big game round too. and it dose not kick that bad and in fact my 12ga. has more recoil then that. if u want to really feel some ting that kicks, step up a mm to a 8mm mauser with 47 grains of duepont 30-31 with a 170gr. spira point with a mag primer now tel me with the recoil is comprable to. hahahahaha i know.(it is my grandpas handloads he know no there is some kick and loud) but in all in all it is a uliterian rifle. and if u want to drop ur deer aim 1inch below the spine and behind the front shoulder and u will drop him in his tracks and u wont have to track him out its called the sweet spot. and that gos the same with an elk or caraboiu or moose -

Re: what do people think about a 7mm Rem. Mag. hey the 160 grain partition round is not really made for hunting, but more for target practice and i would rather use a 175gr. corelock than any thing else. -
