Actually White Amurs unlike carp can be tasty......all white meat unlike a common carp.........but smaller fish are less greasy and fatty and taste better........our rivers are full of PCB's........toxic.......so this fish would be that healthy to eat......but yeah I would smoke a much smaller one and heard they taste good........yeah these fish are taking over and thats not a good thing......good for bowfishing........bad for game fishing !!! Thanks.......its actually not a common carp.....but a white amur.....they are refer to as grass carp.......we call them grassies........but in the true sense they come from the minnow family.......a very big minnow......

Re: new christmas shotgun Very sweet looking gun I have always like those......I have a cheapy black semi auto that I like very much......my 12 yr.old boy wanted one for the holidays....but just a little too much for him.....but I did come across a very nice youth soft camo pump shotgun for him for the holidays......he's very happy with it and its a huge move up from a single shot .410 for dove hunting......lol....nothing quite like getting a new gun for x-mas.

There I was in Wendy's near Cinn. Ohio and was looking at this guy who was dress very low key....NY baseball cap on,jeans and dark t-shirt.....I did a double take before I approach him and it turns at he was Rich Franklin....too cool.....he shook my hand twice and said he's training for a rematch next year.......I told him good luck.......that was about it.....he was real good hope he gets it back !

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks......yeah we clean our guns together.......he takes pretty good care of them........except once he left the nice little Rossi (very nice little starter gun) out in the garage a month and it started to rust in the case.....so I show him how to clean it with solvent....we shoot the.22's the most CB shorts are very quiet in the woods....oh and the little cricket .22 weights only 2.5 lbs.,.....good gun.....our Rossi has a red-dot and the Crickett is scoped.........both dead on....red-dot is best for close shots out of our blind when squirrel hunting.

Well score on a nice camo pump 20 ga. youth shotgun from Wallyworld ($159) to continue my third year in a row on buying my boy a gun for the holidays....started with a Rossi 410/22 combo....then last year got him a crickett .22,....and after his first Dove hunt trying to hit them little grey rockets with a .410 (he did get one)......I decided no more....just had to share I'm always proud to keep giving hunting gifts....when there is just so much competition for useless gifts......don't know what I can do for next year....lol...maybe time to upgrade the bow.....he will be 12 by then.Anyone else do this ??

Re: Wal Mart Woes We only have 2 walmarts out of about 7 in the Dayton Ohio area that still sells guns as a matter of fact I manage to pick up a wal-mart excusive on a C.D. youth shotgun with soft camo....only for $159 ....had never seen this gun before....Its for my boy...no more 410's on a dove hunt.....I've gotten 3 guns at Wallys.....too bad most don't carry them anymore.......good prices.

Re: New Cabelas game out this week.... Just got the game and played some.....Cabelas didn't miss a beat with this one....snowshoe hare,red squirrel,waterfowl,upland birds(Spruce Grouse and etc.),and dog sledding.....along with all the big game.....even has ice fishing and you have to drill through the ice.....but be carefull.....has competition modes with all the game mention above.....I think so far Cabelas out did themselves on this one.....there is even a preview of their next game due out Oct. 17......African Safari which looks better than D.H. 1 & 2.......we'll see....this game is loaded with fish too....I like it.

Re: New Cabelas game out this week.... yeah I saw that ad too.....looks good....EB games,Gamestop, and Game-Crazy stores will be getting the game today.........I'm gonna pick up one today.....not sure when the pc version will be out....we are getting the ps2 format.......I'll report back later on and let you know how we like it......I'm sure we will with all the new modes of play.

Re: Christian Music Steven Curtsi Chapman is all I listen to....we have his whole collection....most of the other christian bands just seem bibically challenge to me......you know very few Godly words and very water down when sung......don't care for that too much.

Just saw a new Cabelas game has been release today.....called.... Alaskan Adventure....looks really good.......check it out at Amazon.com...should hitting the stores by the weekend......has 4 different types of bird hunting......with big game and new modes of play.....along with 10 different fish to fish for......even has a dog sled competition.......not sure of all the formats it will be in.....we are getting it in PS2.looks like they will have 2 new ones this year....in Oct.,...Cabelas African Safari will be release......can't wait.......I have enjoy all their games......D.H. 2 was really good ! GAME-ON !!!! lol

Re: Fall decor pics of my house.....>>> Thanks ya'll.....yeah it's crazy fun around here in Oct.......I'm off that week....so I'll do a little deer hunting in the backyard while we decorate in between.......we use a ATV behind a curtain......you know honk the horn flash the lights might even crank it up for full effects.....maybe I'll have a deer hanging in the garage for more effects......not.......that would be too scary for most around here.....lol.......can't wait to inflate that house......saw it in Sams Club and knew we had to have that.....we will even have a game camera hanging out back snapping pics of all the action......it should be a wild time for all........

Re: dog, the bounty hunter I love Dog too......and no he is not like the ones he arrest.....he's a praying man.......and thats very cool with me....what other show on tv shows a guy praying with his family before a bounty ??......thats pretty bold if ya ask me.......nobodys perfect......we all make mistakes........he's just in a high profile position that gets magnified......Dog rules.......yeah its the only show I watch as well.....GO DOG !!!

Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 I personally like the hub style blind the best......much roomier.....my new one from Dicks S.G.,.....is only 2 hubs to pull out and really light at 10 lbs.,.....I got it on sale for $ 119......it also has the die-cut 3-D leafy material on it......very nice.....hides much better....push in the 2 hub sides and and you are ready to pack it out.... easy and simple.

Re: cabelas dangerous hunts 2 P.S.,....... Cabelas's has 2 new ones coming out this fall called;.....Alask. Adventure and African Safari......not much info. on them yet.....release dates are late sept. and Nov.,.....on the GAMESTOP web site. Also a new Big Game hunter for PC is coming in the fall.

Chrud......your killing me with that pick of your blind....I had the exact same one stolen last year......really like it a lot......I was just at the new Bass-Pro store in Clarksville Ind.,....super sweet store....much bigger than ours in Cinn.,....with a moving 3-d African Safari laser shoot set up like 9 hole putt-putt course......what fun.......anyhow I did manage to feel the new Brickhouse blinds...called Intimidator with the new soft felt like material.....very soft....quiet and no shine....they were sweet.....also check out the new Blur 3-D (leaf cuts) at Dicks S.G.(got one on sale), and Cabelas full draw 2X & 5X.....almost the same......the Blur Tech. really makes the blind disappear......I got the Dicks S.G. one......they are sweet......you can see them on line at either place.

First saw one of these new 3D blur blinds in the Cabelas cat.,.called;...Cabelas Full-Draw 2x and 5x....with the leafy cut-outs.....wow that look good.....got to get one.......then I was shopping in my local Dicks Sporting goods store and found the same blind on sale for $129 (2x full draw version) regular $169.....Cabelas are $ 149 and a little different.....so I pick one up, got home and open it.....man if your a big blind hunter like me......you should check these out.....the 3D leafy cut-out Blur effect is awesome and hides the blind better than without it....really has a blurry look to it and hard to see the outline at a short distance...now I had a nice Brickhouse blind stolen last year out back....and I leave my blinds out....so I really won't spend much more on a blind to just have it grow legs and walk off....I do think I found a way to lock it to a tree this time......anyhow had to tell ya that my new blind looks sweet.....I did well in my B.H. last year......but I think this one will hide even better.....check it out on Cabelas web site......can't wait to set my new camo condo up in the woods....
