  1. Lol! Single and loving it! But yeah, I do get what you mean about not having someone there to join you.
  2. Holy Crap. Hope the little one recovers okay. Has a shepherd grab one of my hounds' paw/toes through a chain link fence, left a nice mark but nothing serious.
  3. Like Letmgrow said, I had a problem with my truck recently that was shooting the rpms out of control and would not allow the truck to start up normally if it was shut off for only a short time. Brought it to the mechanic and here there was a bad part that was telling the computer in my truck that it was -40 degrees out and it needed more gas to keep running. All better now and cost me $90.
  4. Enough weight, but snow tires would help the situation. Snow tires are something that no one has really suggested. Certainly something to look into though, and as soon as I figure out what size I need, maybe I'll call a couple places and get some prices. Thank you!
  5. Just loaded 4 - 60lb Sand Bags into the bed of my F-150 for a total of 240lbs. Placed them like so across the rear axle, 2 Sand Bags - Dog Box (approx 50-75lbs) - 2 Sand Bags ()-----------------^view from back of truck^---------------------() I couldn't feel a difference while driving, and I'm thinking another 2-4 more bags might help? And, Is over the rear axle the best spot to place all of the weight? Truck is a 2 Wheel Drive Short bed Super cab, if that makes a difference. Any other winter truck driving tips?
  6. Awesome Team!!! Super nice bucks!! The women's hunt is tomorrow and I'm hoping to make the best of it, we'll see!
  7. That's the big debate, Nikon or Canon. I'm not crazy about Sony's, but if the price is right I might be. Any suggestions on models to look into?
  8. Does anyone have any recommendations on a nice Digital SRL camera for a beginner? I'm just looking for something that I can play with and use for taking better quality pictures to go along with my writing. I've heard a lot of good about the Canon Rebel XSi and I've seen some very nice pictures from it. So far that's been the leading recommendation, but I'm still searching about and I'm in no rush to get one right away, but hopefully soon. Any advice?
  9. Nothing much happening for me. The bucks are more active, so it looks like the rut is here. Had an encounter with a shooter buck the other night, but he was 50 yards out and I had forgotten my calls, so I could do nothing but pray that he would turn course. Of course he didn't. The aggravating thing was he not once, but twice, walked past my old stand location. But wow, my heart was going and after he dropped out of sight I shook so bad my arrow fell off the rest! Wink Then last night I spotted another, could have been that same buck, I don't know for sure. I kept hearing a deer moving around in the swamp in front of me and I was focused on it when I heard a cornstalk crunch in the field behind me. A quick look revealed a nice one at 75 yards! I had the grunt call, but he would just pause a sec to listen and then back on his merry little way. Typical guy, not wanting to listen! Laughing He went right across the open cut cornfield. I hate my luck.
  10. Oh Boy Team, a buck with a droptine and a piebald buck sighting! If we don't win we should at least get an honorable mention as to how cool of a season we've experienced! Sorry to hear about your bow troubles SouthernIL. Still nothing to report from me. Things have been incredibly dull and I haven't seen a darn thing which is very odd. I plan to hit the woods hard within the next few days, since its getting close to that time of year.
  11. Not Bad for a Toy! Now you need to Camo it out!
  12. Taking it to get estimated today or tomorrow. The insurance was nice and said just take it where ever and fax them the estimate. Everyone keeps saying they're going to keep it at least over night but I'm hoping they don't. It's a ding and scuff that shouldn't take too much.
  13. I haven't even had my truck for 3 months yet and you know what happened? Someone hit me! Not a major hit, but my first accident none the less. I was coming home from work and there's parking spots along the side of the road. Well, I was stopped waiting for someone to back out. Just as that car righted themselves and got ready to go, wham! I felt impact. I thought at first that someone had rear ended me, but realized then that it came from the right side. Someone else was pulling out of a parking spot and never looked behind them. So my truck suffered a hit to the rear tire, a small dent next to the tire and a scuff/scrape right above the tire. The guy actually did more damage to his Chrysler van than to my F-150, that's a truck for ya! Nice guy though and we're in the process of getting things in order to make it right. I think the worst part about the whole deal was having to wait for the police to write everything up. That and I was shaking so bad right after it happened that I could barely dial on my cell phone. Lol But I've never had anything like that happen before so I was nervous! Fun Fun.

  15. Sounds good team! Went last night and saw nothing but raindrops! Work today, so I'm giving it a good try tomorrow morning.
  16. Very Awesome shots Shaun! I wanna use #5 for my desktop background!
  17. Only been out a couple times and like yourself, nothing in bow range. Hoping that all changes soon!
  18. I've had a darn nasty cold the past couple of days and haven't been out. Hoping to get out tomorrow though!
