BUT, trespassing is a worse thing, and a crime in most states. [/ QUOTE ] I should have been more clear. His bean bean butts right up to my open field. There is no fence or anything. I have talked with the guys son before because last year we both had problems with trespassers. My brother shot a doe this morning that did not start bleeding untill after 20 yards. The guys son was in a serious car accident and is in the hospital in serious condition. So I figuered he is probably with him but i called to try and reach him. I am gonna call the dad tommorow and tell him what happened and see if i can go in the beans to double check. Also a couple years ago we shot a deer that ran onto his property. We called him then and told him what happened and he said anytime we need to track a deer go ahead but i was just calling to get the ok again. I thought i would get mixed results with this.

Tonight while out huntingi had a buck out in the bean field that borders my property. I hit the can and came to me about 30 yards and was 5 yards on my property. He walked into an area where i could get a shot broadside. I shot and he bounded back into the bean field where i seen him walk around for the next 15-20 mins. He was on the neighibors property and i was eyeing him through the scope the whole time. I seen no blood, no limp, no hunch over, nothing to show me that he was hit. I get down and head to the house. I replay everything in my head. Since my neighibor is in the hospital i call his dad to get permission to look in the bean field for blood. The first time there was no answer. So i waited 45 mins and tried again and there was answer again. I think his dad might have been at the hospital visiting his son. I wanted to make sure that it was a clean miss even though that i seen him walking around for 15-20 mins after i shot. I go to where he was standing and find his tracks. I follow his tracks for 30 yards in to the bean field and see no blood or nothing. I shined my spotlight out in the bean looking for the deer also just in case i hit him but didnt bleed. I am pretty confident that it was a clean miss. Now my question is, Would you have gone into the bean field (not mine, my neighibors) without ever having conversation with them?

With me being a Michigan fan and all i am leaning towards a rematch. but also a apart of me says well they have had their chance and if they could have won they would be there, but the better team one. I do not want to see USC play them because they have not looked good to me all year long. Notre Dame got beat soundly by Michigan. Florida or Arkansas has not looked good to me either. Whoever they play I would like to see a game as good as the one with Michigan, which in my mind if they play anyone but Michigan it will be boring. Ohio State would beat any other team by atleast two touchdowns. That is just what i think though. Mike

Re: Deer Dander I use it and i like it. I spray some on my boots when i walk in and when i get in my stand i spray it a couple times. I have had deer cross the trail that i walked in on and follow it right to my tree. I was impressed the first time that i used it and seen deer cross my trail. I have not been winded yet using the stuff. I have had deer down wind and smell and know something wasnt right and go around me but have not had one smell and blow. Mike

Re: A little help. Well got back after it this morning, followed the trail for another 15 yards and then lost it. Then 20 yards up the trail we found blood where he crossed the creek. followed it for another 20 yards to where he layed down. The bed did not have a lot of blood in it. Followed the trail up a little hill and at the top of the hill we lost blood. I was out there for 2 hrs then i had to go to work, my brother was out there from 7:30 to 10:30, looked over an hr at the place where we last lost the blood. He didnt find any other sign. so im not sure how the blood just stops. At the top of the hill is tall grass where we shoulda seen blood on the grass. Most of the blood that we seen was on the side of trees that he must of rubbed up against and it would have been on the exit wound side of his body. The blood was on the side of the trees about 2-3 ft up. Along with the blood on the trees there was a couple times that there was white hair with the blood. Last night when the blood was fresh we smelled it a couple of times and it did not smell like guts. Right now we are stumped. I feel terrible. I do not know what to do or where to go next. Mike

i thought this was kinda neat, a button buck pushing around a doe He was also smackin her on the butt with his hooves but i didnt get that on tape.The video is 5.4 mb. At the end when they look back, they were looking at the buck i ended up hitting tonight, but i couldnt see him at that time. mike

i shot my first buck tonight but im not sure about the hit. i shot him about 20 mins before dark. He did a little kick and tucked his tail and ran. The shot was about 120 yards with a 12 gauge slug. I was using a remington 11-87 sighted in dead on at 100 yards. I found blood, good blood and tracked him for about 50 yards with good blood. Then after that my brother and I went another 25 yards with only 2 drops of blood. At the last spot of blood there was some clumpy stuff that looked like poop but it didnt smell like it, it was greenish brown in color. We backed out and decided to go back in the morning. My brother was telling me he found the same greenish brown stuff earlier in the year when he was helping his buddy track his deer and it ended up being a liver shot. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Re: Stuck in the Stand i am not sure if you are in the air or not but sometimes i have stuff in my pocket just in case. i have used my scent spray bottle, bottle of doe pee an old grunt call. If i am there a while and i want to get down i will throw some stuff in their general area, within 5 yards of them. Most of the time it works. Mike

Re: Congrats to Ohio State Heck of a Game!! It was definitly the best 2 teams in the country tonight. I am already thinking rematch . Troy Smith is the hands down heisman winner. Michael Hart was great too, people should consider him atleast a finalist for the heisman. The best running back in the country, even though he is a midget. Come on muggs you can admit he ran all over your defense and he is awesome . Congrats to Ohio State. Mike
