  1. This will be the last year that the wife and I will be able to exchange large gifts(after this it will be legos and toys for little one), so I am gonna make it a doozy and ask for the Craftsman Professional Tool Chest, both top and bottom. Need to get my garage organized!
  2. Sad to see that for sure. I know how you feel. I've seen this a few times with good friends and family members. Say everything you always wanted to say. They can hear everything.

    It's time

I sure hope everything goes well for you Steve! Good Luck.
  4. The second picture is amazing. What a total look of happy on his face and the water droplets. AWESOME photography. One for the wall for sure! Looks like a great time. The slide was a hit!
  5. Looks great. What does the "AP" stand for? All purpose?
  6. Great news. Stick with it. It sure is worth it in the end. Nursing is an admirable discipline!
  7. Wow, I can't believe how this thread makes me frusturated. HA HA. Its like everything I hate about poor posting rolled into one thread. HA HA HA
  8. Very cool. I could only imagine the feeling. I was a volunteer for a little while and thinking of picking it up again. One of the most important thing you can do is keep you turnout gear in good shape. They should be able to withstand a fair amount of heat and flame. Congrats man!
  9. Amazing dude! Very happy for you! Sounds like a heckuva resolution to your career issue!
  10. It still amazes me how we can't trust anyone anymore. Its kinda sad actually.
  11. Well our Ranger Patrol group has a couple of winter exercises planned for this winter. Beginning of december we'll be heading out on snowmobiles to camp on a remote lake. Should be a fun 60mile run on the sleds. So because it is in december in Northern Canada I finally antied up and bought some winter sleeping gear. Got a new Wiggy's -40 sleeping bag combo on the way along with an army cot package that has the cot stand, sleeping pad, side table and cot all included. That darn bag was expensive. Hopefully keeps me warm! I love ordering stuff from Cabela's. Very much a guilty pleasure. The wife is in Northern Alberta right now so I won't tell her until she gets back. :-) We are also looking at supervising The Northern Quest dogsled race this year. It is similar to Alaska's Ititarod race. It would be awesome to travel from Gillam to Churchill to Arviat by snowmobile.
  12. Sure was cool letting out the dogs in the boxers this morning. Couple of days ago we had some flurries! Looked like a blizzard outside but everything melted. Gonna go get a moose tag tomorrow!
  13. There is a night and day difference between a flute and Short Reed. Use your "guts" rather than you cheeks. Shawn Stahl's video is by far the best out there for teaching the way of the Short Reed. Cut your air flow in half and just work on the first note of the whoooo-it.....wait until you get that low first note, almost like a moan (whoooo whoooo whooo) then close off the it by center portion of your tounge to the top of your mouth to make the it. I found it really difficult to switch, but once I did, I'll never go back.
  14. The tundra birds were on the move last night for sure. Blocking out the moon at about 11pm last night. Myself and my dog could barely stand the noise. Can't wait for hunting!
  15. I am definetly a duck hunter. I am blessed with the opportunity to hunt both easily, but there is something about the whistling wings shooting by just before legal shooting time that gets me going. Geese are special too. I love the sound they make when they lift from the lake, or late at night when you can see groups of them blocking out the full moon on migration. They were sure moving here last night. I was outside with my labs for about 20mins watching a mixture of snows and canadas fly by at night. Very cool sight. And my oldest dog could barely stand it. He was just shaking standing there.
  16. When it rains it pours it seems. Keep your chin up and things will get better. Sorry to hear about your loss.
  17. At least you'll have good night vision buckee! lol
  18. Everything has Pros and Cons. Carbs are tried tested and true. They work and are easy to troubleshoot. However carbs are dependent on Jetting for fuel mixture. If you decide to modify your quad and change the exhaust or intake anyway, you'll be looking at re-jetting. Also, jets do affect performance where altitude changes are present. I am at sea level(or just about) and couldn't just take my bike to the rocky mountains. Quads with carbs usually have a pull start too! EFI is great. Cold weather starting, no need for a choke, and runs like a top no matter what elevation you run at. However there is no recoil starter on all EFI quads to date(from my knowlege) and if you are out and about and your battery dies, you better hope you have a way of changing or boosting the battery. ATV prices vary greatly between Canada ad the US. I bought mine in Canada for under 10k. I would say 8k sounds a little high for a machine that is essentially a year old already, even though the only thing they changed from 06 to 07 was the tail light(I think).
  19. The Rincon's don't have a low range either. So if you are dragging a couple of dear around or just doing yard work, they lack the power on the low end. Any big mud riding is out of the question as well. The Rubicon is a great machine I love mine. It has more low end grunt then the Rincon, but does lack in the overall horsepower. I am not a power rider, so as long as I can turn my outlaws in the slop I am happy. It uses the Hondamatic transmission which is nice as you have manual, automatic option. However there are 5L of oil to change as it is basically a hydrostatic drive. The Foreman 450ES is another great option. Its first gear has good low end grunt and it will just about match the Rubicon for speed. It has the old reliable transmission but is thumb shifted via gear buttons.
  20. I can't believe how lucky that guy is! Not sure what they were shooting at, but you think shooting into a sand pile is pretty safe. Very freaky accident!
  21. Looks sharp. I wanna pay my truck off by the end of next year and I can start sinking some money into a lift and tires.
  22. Looks great. Quite a few velvet ones being taken this year. Hopefully he gets that sent to be freeze dried!
  23. Man this is news to me! You'll definetly be in my thoughts! I hope all goes well at the docs.
