And as I already stated ... NOBODY is telling anyone to drink here .... its a discussion about what you already do .... PERIOD ..... if you want to start a discussion about how bad it is and the affects it has on a persons life then you should do that where it is appropriate .... if you think that should be the lounge then do it there no in a thread about a totally differerent discussion ... like I said if you dont like the current discussion stay out of it or dont read it ... just like the TV at home or a radio station ... its nothing personal here its just the way a forum discussion should be allowed to run not everyone will EVER have the same beliefs but for that person to be told his beliefs (when they are the ones that start the thread) are wrong and are never a good thing ... which ever way you want to spin it. And Im not bristled at all ... just have a conversation about the TOPIC at hand .... trying to keep to the DISCUSSION of this thread is all. Steve

We dont need new rules we just need the ones we have enforced .... hijacking a thread for your own benefit would be a rule that would be broke here .... discussion about a topic you might not agree with is not a rule infraction. No where in this thread does it say for you to go out and START drinking it was what do you PREFER (implies you already drink a beer) .... see the HUGE difference there.... this would be one of the problems with these forums .... Steve

"Blue moon drinkers, does the orange slice add or subtract from the flavor of the beverage?" Have to have the range slice .... totally adds to the flavor ... I can drink it without it but its better with it.

For one I dont recall the TOPIC of this thread ... Whats your theory on beer... it was actually what is your prefered beer ... if you dont drink beer stay out of it or change the channel ... if you want to preach how awful it is go to the spiritual room and counter it there where others will tend to agree with you ... if you have nothing nice to say about the DISCUSSION here stay out of it or change the channel .... Now back to our regular scheduled program. As for me I drink Bud Light bottles if I am at Buffalo Wild Wings I drink a tall Blue Moon ... other wise I will have an occasional Crown and seven. Some of the Bud light commercials are great I cant wait to see what they do for the Super Bowol commercials. Steve

Its the bulb or the ballast ... either way its tough to find Vizio parts because from the very beginning they were just a throw away set. Unless you purchased the extended warranty im afraid you will probably be out of luck. I will say though there are some TV shops around that will have a bulb or ballast for that TV just that Vizio vertually has no parts inventory per say. That is why they are such a cheap/inexpensive set. Steve

Couldn't of said it better too bad the message got jacked by a mod who obviously doesn't/didnt think the same way you did. Not sure what part of the orignal message was about a crossbow but whatever ... I guess that just puts an ! on the whole post. Steve

Update from Chuck He has gone from not having to take medicines to taking all sorts of medicines 3 times a day. He also has to adjust to a low sodium diet, and has many restrictions for the next 8 weeks of recovery. Dakota's heart function remains at a very low level, but the medicines and the pacemaker/defibrulator surgery will hopefully buy him some time before he is placed on the heart transplant waiting list. He will have follow up appointments with his cardiologist in Sioux Falls, along with his cardiologists (including his new heart transplant cardiologist) at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Now we'll just take things day to day and place everything in God's hands. Thank you all so much for your prayers! Steve

Sorry about not getting this up here last night guys ... Some good new and some not so good news Dakota's surgery went well and he is now back in his room. The doctor says Dakota may be able to go home later this week, but it all depends on how he does the next few days. The purpose of this surgery is mainly to treat his heart failure symptoms and to buy Dakota time before he has a heart transplant. The doctor says a heart transplant is pretty much going to be a certainty at some point, but at this point we just don't know when. This is difficult, but we know that God is in control and is working everything out for His glory. We are trusting Him! Thank you all so much for your prayers! Ill let you know when I get something new on Dakota. Steve

Got this from Chuck this today! Dakota is having his defibrulator/pacemaker surgery today at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Please be praying for Dakota and for wisdom for the surgeons and all involved in his care. Will update you all later. Thank you! Steve

Latest update 4/15/10 Dakota is now out of pediatric ICU. He is up and about and building strength for Monday, when he will have a CT scan on his coronary arteries and then his pacemaker/defibrulator surgery. He will be transfered to the University of Nebraska Med Center for these procedures. Not sure how long we will be here afterwards, we are just taking it one day at a time! Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and we will give you another update probably Monday night. Ill let you know when I get more. Steve

New update on Dakota Met with the Heart Transplant cardiologists from the University of Nebraska Med Center this morning. They will be part of Dakota's cardiologist team from now on. The plan is to have his defibrulator/pacemaker surgery sometime next week. The transplant cardiologists want to exhaust all mechanical and medicinal means to try and regain Dakota's heart function before they start talking more seriously about a transplant. But, they have started the evaluation process. Dakota is resting in the Ped ICU right now. We are all in good spirits and know that God is carrying us through this! Thank you so much for your prayers - please keep them coming! Sounds like he still needs lots of prayers guys ..... Steve

Dakota went into surgery at 7:30 this morning and came out at 12:30. The doctors first performed a transesophegeal echocardiogram (down the esophogas to the heart) to check to see if there were blood clots in his heart, which there were none. Then through a line from a vein in his neck into his heart they took tissue from his right ventricle for a biopsy, checking for signs of current or past infection. They then did a heart catherization going through a vein near the groin and took pictures inside the heart. They tried to go inside his coronary arteries but couldn't because they were too small. But they injected dye to see how they were working and they seemed to be okay. At this point they were to implant his new pacemaker/defibrulator with an additional lead going to the left ventricle in addition to the right. They were unable to do so as the anesthesiologist who was keeping tabs on Dakota's levels decided that Dakota's heart was too sick to put him under additional anesthesia to take on another 3 hours of surgery in addition to the 5 hours he already had. So, now they will wait until they feel Dakota's heart is strong enough for the surgery to implant the pacemaker/defibrulator device, which could be a few days or a few weeks. They will also monitor how he does on all his new meds and will try to get him to a level where he can take this medication orally instead of by IV. It may be a blessing that they stopped before they did the defibrulator/pacemaker surgery as now the doctors question whether that's the best thing to do right now, but time will tell. They are pretty certain all this damage to his heart was caused by a virus of some sort and that his heart function has been decreasing significantly over the last several weeks or even months. They told us that this isn't even related to his current heart defect (Dakota has had 3 open-heart surgeries to this point), and that this could have happened to anyone. We thank all of you for your continued prayers for Dakota and us. Please continue to pray for wisdom for the doctors and all involved in Dakota's care! This is the latest I have gotten on Dakota Steve

Dakota is currently in surgery - please pray! Just got this update from Chuck ...

Update on Dakota Dakota had an echo cardiogram (ultrasound on the heart) and a chest x-ray this morning. After much discussion his cardiologists have decided that Dakota will have an esophageal echo Tuesday morning to look for clots, if that is clear they will continue with a heart catherization to check out his coronary artery function, install a third wire from his pacemaker to his left ventricle to stimulate pumping action, and will also install an internal defibrillator - all in the same procedure. They said not to worry about function numbers rising or not from the meds - there's not been enough time for that to happen yet. As far as what caused this, we will probably never know. Please pray for wisdom and steady hands for his doctors and surgeons, and for comfort and strength for all of us. We and the doctors are just taking this one step at a time. We have great faith in Christ who is carrying us all through this. We know He will bring himself glory no matter what the outcome. We will continue to give you updates on my status. Thanks again for all your prayers and encouragement! We pray for God's rich blessings upon each of you this day! Chuck, Jennifer, and Dakota Yeah I can get something to him just let me know! Steve
