Re: Just not Fair (pic) This is a tough post, but I have to say I agree w/ the landowner who kept the buck. Here in WV, we follow the 'Last killing shot takes it' rule. If you're hunting and hear a gunshot nearby, lots of time deer will run by, & if one is a bruiser buck, then you're gonna shoot to kill it. Even if it's wounded, you killed it, so you're gonna keep it. I'm sorry you lost such a nice buck, but there will be more. Good luck the rest of your season.

Re: I officially hate State Land I hunted public land a LOT 2 years ago. My worst story was when 2 squirrel hunters walked up on me during a great day for bow hunting. They walked on through, so I sat there debating what to do next...within 1 hour, another squirrel hunter came walking through. Needless to say, time was all I killed that day.

Re: West Virginia Bowhunters We scouted a good bit last weekend down at the farm in Monroe Co., and saw the same. We had a lot of rubs and scrapes, and as we left the farm we saw a small buck and 2 does together. We kind of joked that the 'bachelor groups' had broken up and that maybe the weather has confused the deer. Thanks for the reply. Good luck this season.

Well, we're officially a week away from the opener. I'll be perched high in a tree in a small oak flat in Monroe County...Anyone got any scouting reports for WV? Good luck this season and hunt safe.
