  1. Re: Favorite deer calibers I gonna have to say my .270, it has never failed.
  2. Re: Opening day success Hunted all day Sat here in Beaufort county. Saw a few does and let 2 small bucks, a spike and little 4 pointer, walk. Waiting on some real head gear. Congrats to all who got one.
  3. Re: Firearm of choice for Bushy tails My old Remington Speedmaster .22, it has never failed. If the canopy is thick, then I may switch to the 12 ga. but prefer the .22
  4. Re: what was your first animal. A squirrel with my bb gun when i was 4. Got the picture in an album.

    Trout

Re: Trout To me, fly fishing in the fall is the best. Catch a lot of big browns in late Sept. through November.
  7. Re: Double Standard? I agree with INBowhunter. We should all shoot our guns more frequently but if given the option between practicing with my bow or my rifle, I'd choose the bow every time due to the complexity of the bow and the concentration it requires; not saying that the rifle doesn't require concentration, it's just the bow requires more IMO.
  8. Re: YOUR FAVORITE NFL TEAMS Definitely a Panthers fan and Falcons (for my dad).
  9. Re: How many rounds of ammo before season? My rifle season opens in mid- October so I begin shooting my rifle about 3 weeks before and shoot 15 rounds a week through it in a variety of positions. I don't really spend that much time with the rifle b/c it's always dead on and I think I ike bowhunting better so I tend to spend more time on that.

    Who got you?

Re: Who got you? My dad got me into bowhunting when I was 9. He made me hunt with a rifle until then so I could get experience. But I've been bowhunting with him ever since.
  11. Re: Dean: Race Was Factor in Deaths, Oh Brother!!! IMO they all knew the storm was a threat and they chose to stay. I think if I were too poor to be able to drive, I would start walking. Anything to avoid death or injury. It doesn't cost a penny to move your legs. These people are just looking for someone to blame other than themselves. It was their decision to stay there and now they are try to point their fingers at someone else.
  12. Re: The venerable .30-30 I have a marlin .30-.30 that was my first deer rifle and 12 years later it still comes out of the case to deer hunt on occasion. I also use it a lot when bear hunting behind dogs.
  13. Re: dove guns???? winchester 1300 12 ga with a 31in barrel and a modified choke..... shooting remington game loads in 7 1/2 shot.
  14. Re: what\'s the longest shot made with your ML\'s 175 yds with a T/C Encore with 150 gr of powder
  15. Re: doves Put them on a skewer with peppers and onions and grill until well done. Wonderful tasting dish.

    Jug Lines

Re: Jug Lines We do the same thing dihard, have a lot of success too...
  19. Re: Honest Question... Honest Answer..... Considering we all advocate abiding by laws, I would probably register it just to avoid larger penalties but that's where the line gets drawn, any other requests/laws on gun control would be the end of my law-abiding days.
  20. Re: fishing I'll fish for about anything but mainly trout, bass, and carp.
  21. Re: squirrl hunters My dad started me squirrel hunting close to 17 years ago when i was 3. He would take me and let me shoot with a small bb gun, i still do it a little when not chasing whitetails, of course with a larger weapon. like BuffaloCounty said, for a real challenge, try hunting them with a bow, thats pretty exciting.

    Why go to church?

Re: Why go to church? I agree whole-heartledly with Norm. Good post.
  24. Re: Never ending deer story so I reacted by throwing......
  25. Re: spoons or spinner bait I love spinnerbaits for locating fish, but can't beat the soft-plastics for quality of fish. I use float worms, carolina rigs, and texas rigs for awsome largemouth action.
