Re: I’ve gotta teach my wife to hunt: Well I can tell you that 5 years ago I never thought I would be hunting every year but when I first met my husband he got me all interested in it, I got my first bow and here I am! I WOULDN'T TRADE A SEASON OF HUNTING FOR ANYTHING! When we go out hunting we always sit in different stands and it is aways so fun after the hunt to get in the truck and talk about what we saw walking around out there. Truely wouldn't trade anything for those times!

Well Saturday was definetly a busy day for me and Smokester. We had a birthday party at 2:30, then his work Christmas party at 6:00, then my work Christmas party at 7:30. Well we got to his party at 6:00 and they had king crab legs and filet for dinner, had a real good time visiting with his co-workers. Then at 7:30 we head to my work party where we had to wait in line for 30 min for a cocktail. Well once we ate they started the normal awards banquet and this year after the awards were handed out (which I got miss congeniality) they had a new giveaway for the behind the scenes people. Well my name gets choose and I go up for a gift and there are like 24 of us standing up there. So they have us unwrap our gifts right there and we all got anywhere from scratch off tickets to money. Well that wasn't it so then the boss pulls out this bucket full of keys. Whoever draws the key to open the box gets the prize. Well we all get a key and I had to wait through like 20 people and as they went along no one had it, well then it was my turn....I HAD THE KEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow!!!!!!!! Sure enough so I opened the door only to see several bunches of $100 bills laying there. So he says do you know how much is there? I said "A LOT" lol then he said each of those bundles were $1000. THERE WAS $10,000 in cash sitting there in front of me! So then he says...wait there's more, look inside. So sure enough there is something hanging inside the box. I pull it out and it's a key chain to a 2004 Monte Carlo SS! THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE RIGHT? No not at all! Oh my goodness! He tells me I have to pick one or the other, so being that the car stickered at $25,000 I had to take the car! How about that for a Christmas bonus! Oh BTW the taxes were all paid as well! What a night, I can say Santa definetly came to Kansas early this year!

Re: Exploding Carbon Arrows (graphic): I can probably figure this one out. I used to shoot wood arrows when I was younger. If I came to full draw and decided not to shoot the arrow I would hold the arrow with my index finger, so it wouldn't flop off the rest. I had my finger pressed on the arrow a little too hard and would put the arrow in a bind shattering it and barely missing my hand. Another possiblilty is he shot while he had his finger up on the arrow, unaware he forgot to take his finger off. This is a good reason not to use your index finger period to hold the arrow in place or keep it from falling while at draw or drawing. Who knows I could be wrong could be the way his bow was set up too. I have yet personally to see a carbon arrow shatter and I'll keep shooting them. Mark(too lazy to log onto my own account)

Well went out tonight with my husband to our usual hunting spot and after a couple hours I started thinking that we weren't going to see anything out tonight. Well low and behold in walks in this 8 pointer. He walks in so fast on me that I was totally unprepared so I get my gloves off, he seemed a bit timid, and he slowly sniffed the ground. I guess he smelled us. I got sooooo nervous my heart skipped a beat and just before he could walk away I shot him. It wasn't the greatest shot cause he was standing at a bad angle with his rear towards me. He shot off through the woods where he stood for a long time, then he happened to walk past my husbands stand where my husband got another shot in to take him down for good. We didn't have to track him too far thank goodness but here is the picture...

My mom sent this to me and I knew you guys would love to see it too!
