Things are starting to open up here, I finally get to go back to work on Monday, really looking forward to getting back at it.

Wow that's awesome, way to go Sarah!!!??? Wanted to get out today but we had whiteout conditions off and on all day. The wind was insane! Freaking snow in May, ugh!

Well nothing this morning. Legal shooting time was 5:31am this morning. Think we were at the blind by 5:10ish. Only around 400 yards from the house. Heard one grouse drumming about 50 yards behind us. By 6:10 Emma had enough lol. It was only 19 degrees so I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did. Supposed to be 57 later so maybe she'll last a little longer this afternoon. We'll head out around 4:30 or 5:00. Cutoff time is 7pm here.

Getting geared up for the morning. Emma, my 4 year old is pumped up! She was with me last year when we got one. Got the blind set up, chairs are in, ready for the morning. I'm using my 20ga this year. It's just an old Remington 812 single shot 2 3/4" that my dad bought brand new for $25 when he was 18, and passed it onto me when I was old enough to take the punch from it. I've killed countless grouse, ducks and even geese with it, and this year I want to take a turkey with it! Yesterday I got some Nitro Magnum 1 1/8oz #6's. Should do the trick!

Very nice Al! That will serve you well, good luck with it! I sold my 10ga last year, also using a 20ga this year.

I've wanted one of these for a long time. Very hard to find up here. Finally found one in mint condition and jumped on it! What a sweet shooting little shotgun! Remington 1100 Sporting 28ga (looks like a scratch in the last pic but it's just the reflection. This thing is flawless)

Welcome back to the forums Will! Was so cool to meet you down in Tennessee in February. If I'm ever down there again we will have to hook up for some more food! Glad the family is doing well. Happy Easter to you guys.
-
Doing ok over here in Ontario too. All non-essential businesses are shut down. I have been off work since early December, took the voluntary layoff for the winter. Should have been going back around this time, but I think it will be a while before I go back now. Oh well, nice to spend time with the family. Turkey season opens on the 25th, looking forward to getting out there with my daughter again! They are off until at least May 4th, but I doubt they will go back at all this year.
-
Glad you made it home safely Lewis! Don't go stir crazy being in the house for 2 weeks.
-
Now apparently Trudeau's wife has symptoms lol. Yeah I can't wrap my head around the whole TP thing, geesh where so people think of this crap? Haven't used hand sanitizer once in my life so that doesn't bother me.
-
Enjoy your vacation Lewis!!! Have fun in the sun.?

Only by driving me absolutely mental by the way people are reacting to it, and you can't go anywhere or read anything without seeing it all over the place.
-
Thanks for putting the contest on William!
-
LOL! The bow and deer target on the way home from your place that time. Wish I could have got a pic of the border guard's face when she opened the trunk to find the deer target.???
-
Yeah of all people to get snippy with in this world, customs agents are usually the last on the list lol.
-
LOL!!! The US border guard was actually quite arrogant. We actually clear customs in the Ottawa airport after going through security. He asked when I was returning to Canada and I said I'll be returning Friday. He looked at me stupidly and said "Which Friday?! There are 52 of them in a year!!" ??

Oh wow that is horrible William. Hope the dog recovers quickly. Hopefully the company covers the vet bill for you.
-
Tonight I met another member of ours! Good buddy of mine for at least 12 years that I've never put a face to the name until tonight. Tennessee Turkey hunter, used to be KentuckyTurkeyhunter aka William! Down here in Knoxville, Tennessee for a course for work this week, Will works pretty close to here so we had dinner tonight! I know he hasn't been on here in a while, but awesome meeting ya buddy!?

They are everywhere here Martin! Go outside after sunset and that's all you hear is them yapping and howling. Tracks EVERYWHERE you look all over our farm.

Yup it was awesome. Sighted the gun in this morning, went out this afternoon and got my first kill with it. And this yote is my first one I've ever called in!
-
Smoked one this afternoon with the .257 Weatherby Mag. Hit the rabbit in distress and within 5 minutes two came flying in like it was their last meal. Well for one of them it was. I wasn't prepared, missed the first shot, hit the back leg on the second and leveled it the third shot on a dead run.
-
I'd like to get some snow camo myself. I live in Ontario Canada so its snowy usually from November til April or May. Usually just wear my realtree AP or realtree extra.
-
Yeah its probably about an eighth of an inch with the flip cap on William. Got its first kill with it this afternoon. Went out, blew the rabbit in distress call a few times and within 5 minutes two of them came running in. Silly me wasn't prepared and rushed, missed the first shot then it was a full bore run broadside. Hit it in the back leg, then finally rolled it with the third shot. Man it was fun! It happened so fast, honestly I'm surprised I was able to bring myself together and get it done.?
-
Oh, and congrats on the deer Al!

Just sighted my new OTPG gun in this morning, .257 Weatherby Mag. Gonna take it out for a coyote hunt this afternoon. That will sure light them up if one steps out in front of it!?
